We loved staying at the quaint little ‘Ofenhaus’!
It was everything we expected, based on the Booking.com description, and maybe even a bit better. :)
The cleanliness was exemplary! I really am quite exacting concerning hygiene — and this place was literally spotless!
The whole place smelt of fresh laundry when we walked in — it really doesn’t get any better than that!
The water temperature and pressure in the shower are great!
Since both my husband & I have long, luxurious hair, this is a crucial point for us. Many holidays have been ruined, alas, because of bad (cold, weak) showers — but not at the ‘Ofenhaus’!
Everything works to perfection!
The location is really quiet & calm, but the beautiful medieval town of Murten can be reached on foot (via a short walk of 1km).
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and would definitely book the ‘Ofenhaus’ again if we happened to stay in the area in the future!

The house has a nice layout & generally everything is well-looked after. At the entrance, there's a WC & central stairs, leading down to a laundry room & up to four bedrooms plus a bathroom. The living room has a sofa, TV, fireplace & large table. The kitchen is a good size with everything we needed, except a microwave. The house feels quite spacious. The living area has floor-ceiling windows/doors all around, the kitchen also has a door to the garden area, which goes around the house on three sides. Two bedrooms have a sliding, connecting door, a balcony & floor-ceiling windows overlooking the garden & local area; one wakes up to the sound of birds. There's a side-road in front, which has hardly any traffic. The area is peaceful, with some nicely renovated, historical houses. It's a short walk to the lake, where there's a small park, and from there a short walk to a Coop supermarket & then the old town. The train station is also walking distance.
