Sambuc’asa is a beautiful place to stay and Nuno is the perfect host with great information and local knowledge. The area has so much to offer and although the weather was not our friend this time we would return in a heartbeat.

The host met us and brought us into the apartment. Gave us a quick tour of the facilities and left a home made chocolate cake as a welcome treat. The place is modern, clean and really comfortable. A wonderful place to stay.

We loved the location of the house. The interior walls are made of granite which makes the house fresh without the need of air conditioned. Also the house is quite spacious. The hosts had a basket with honey, cheese, and coffee waiting for us. The kitchen is well equipped with all it is needed for a conformable stay. The location allows easy access to all hiking trails of Serra da Estrela. One of the best hiking trails starts very near the house and also gives access to a very nice river beach. If you are traveling with pets, the house is also the perfect spot.

I spent two nights (February) in the hostel and was completely alone there. The staff was amazing and did a lot that I feel comfortable. Facilities are clean, kitchen is well equipped, the dorm rooms are cozy. All in all it was a great stay, I would definitely come back!
Clean and spacious place amongst the stone towns of the Portuguese mountains. Restaurant across the street. Big and well equipped communal kitchen and lounge space. Checkin was at the cafe across the road, where staff were friendly and helpful.
The apartment is spacious, modern and very clean with good mountain view. The kitchen has everything needed for cooking but if you want to eat out try Cantinho da Serra which is nearby and serves good food. Of course
Praia Fluvial de Loriga should not be missed if you havent been there which is also nearby.

Casa da Cantareira is a home away from home. Tiago was really welcoming and made sure our stay was pleasant. The house is very cozy - a wonderful mixture between traditional village house flair and a modern interior. The kitchen is well equipped, the beds comfortable and a nice extra was the fresh bag of bread for breakfast. (Obrigada, Paula!)
In summer the area is nice for hiking and swimming in the cool rivers. Over all, we regretted not having had the possibility to stay longer...
