Comfy, quiet, near town centre and home from home.
Charming loft that befits its ‘hole in the wall’ name, with a nice kitchenette and modern fixtures. Pleasant walk to the city centre, and a Spar for any self-catering just steps away
The property was beautifully decorated, such a joy to stay in. Had everything we needed for our 4 night stay. Took us around 20 minutes to get to The Shambles and centre of York, couple in our twenties. Around a 10-15 min walk to Sainsbury's so perfect for self catering. But also there are sooo many food and drink options in York, with many suggested on a board in the kitchen! Plus places to visit during your stay.

The Light Well was a lovely self catering apartment.It was comfortable,clean,well equipped and had everything you needed and more.It was about 15 minutes walk into the city walls so was very well placed.Julie met us to show us round and was so helpful and was a fantastic host.You could easily stay for a week self catering as the kitchen had everything you could need including a slow cooker /washer and dryer
Location was good - walking distance to all the York tourist attractions. I was there for the marathon and the location was also handy for the start/finish of that.

It was self catering but we received a very comprehensive welcome pack -much more than we have ever experienced in our previous holiday rentals. The cottage had everything you might want- it was like walking into someone’s home and taking over. The kitchen had all you might need by way of utensils and equipment.
The garden looked wonderful and our only regret was that we were there in October and not during the summer.
Location is ideal walkable from York train station but has access to a local bus link bus stop outside hostel. Dorms very clean and spacious with plenty of toilets and showers outside. A self catering kitchen sitting lounge, and small bar accompanies the hostels warm and welcoming atmosphere and is good value for money.
I loved everything about the apartment although as a diabetic I prefer to cook for myself and felt that the kitchen was a bit sparse for anything more than basic self catering. Apart from that, loved it!

Very thorough instructions for self check-in (which you need to observe carefully) and a neat little kitchen for basic self catering.
Location is good walkable or by the number 2 bus outside the hostel into York. Superbly clean and spacious dormatories with excellent self catering kitchen facilities. There is also a paid breakfast and evening meal on request. Excellent staff throughout.
