Over Torrs Cottage, hotel in Hayfield

Situated in New Mills, 17 km from Buxton Opera House and 23 km from Victoria Baths, Over Torrs Cottage features accommodation with free WiFi in a historic building.

The holiday let was modern and comfortable in a good area for walks in the Peak District . Not too far away to drive to locations such as kinder scout or Castleton , but also good for several walks right from the door. The host looks like they have put a lot of effort into making the house nice for guests , with tea , coffee and lollipops from the local swizzles factory and a couple of guide books, which we used one day being a nice touch .

Lovely quiet little cottage in a great location. Although the annex is part of the farmhouse it is very private and peaceful, and feels quite separate. Very friendly helpful hosts who let us house our bike in their barn. Lovely comfortable bed and bedroom, really good shower, good facilities throughout, cosy sitting room and kitchen, everything you need for a comfortable stay in a beautiful area.

The service was brilliant, Karen, the manager went over and above to make our stay special as it was our wedding anniversary she was there from early morning cooking breakfast to last orders late at night and still with a smile on her face. I lost my late mother's wedding ring and she retrieved it for me and for that I will always be grateful. Also we returned too late for the dinner service one evening so she said no problem and went into the kitchen and cooked a meal for us. Fantastic service.

What a lovely, quaint, comfortable and warm cottage. The location is perfect for local walks, Lantern Pike, and a short drive to Mam Tor, Edale and Castleford. Exactly what we were looking for. We use the Peak District as a meeting place for our Manchester Uni kids and Glossop train station is 10 minutes away. Dog friendly, good kitchen and even the pillows were perfect! Highly recommended. We will be back!

Excellent location for us. Within easy walking distance of the village and a good base for driving around the Peak District. House very comfortable and we felt very ‘at home’. Parking space for one car which is always a must for us. There is a nice area with hot tub which is obviously a very popular asset although we didn’t use it. Lots of space in the house with a nice kitchen and lounge area. We enjoyed our stay.

I recieved a warm welcome. I explained I had an early start in the morning and the manager Steve allowed me access to the kitchen and left items out for my breakfast , cereal, milk tea etc. It was very relaxed and comfortable. The shower is good and the bed was very comfy. I had a great sleep.
