The accommodation was generally clean. As for the standards one sees in the UK it was even very clean. The big plus is that the owners don’t accept pets. So if you’re allergic to dogs like me this is a huge advantage. At this time of year (last weekend in October) it was a bit chilly inside. We woke up to 16 degrees inside. I’m not entirely sure if that’s how it is or it’s our fault. The heating was on but it was still not enough. However, there’s a little gas fire place so it was good and made the place cosy. It was ok for a night. It’s nicely decorated and I think the owners seem to care. We could choose where we slept as there were only three of us but some mattresses seemed a bit too soft for us.
At the entrance let them know you check in. They will give you a map and tell you how to get to the caravan especially if it’s dark - it’s very helpful.

Very spacious with lovely decor and a very homely yet contemporary feel. Very good communication with the host. We were very comfortable and immediately relaxed. It feels very cared for.

The property is in an excellent location right in the middle of Cartmel which means you can walk to all the brilliant restaurants and pubs. There is a parking space too which was a bonus but also if there’s more than one car, you can park at the race course which is less than 5 minutes walk and quite reasonable at £35 for a weeks parking.
The cottage is well equipped in the kitchen and a nice touch to provide a bottle of fizz and some chocolates on arrival. Also tea, coffee and sugar provided
It was a self catering lodge which is why we chose it.
It’s a stunning lodge with all the facilities needed.
Lots of personal touches that make it a bit more special.
And to top it all the weather was perfect too.
I liked the cosy set up, the large bedroom and bathroom. The cleanliness was 💯 and the furnishings and kitchen equipment was excellent. It was warm and very easy to stay there.

Clean and comfortable
Its a very peaceful location, lovely walled gardens, well tended to, nice for a stroll around and recharge! We had the whole grounds to ourselves, no one else in stay. Our dogs enjoyed the freedom of running around the grounds too. The cottage is quite bijou, clean and well equiped kitchen. The bed is so comfy!

The location. The house is in a quiet part of the village. Lovely view from the kitchen window. . We ate out all the time and found some lovely pubs in the village. We will definitely return to Cartmel.
