This is our second stay at the apartment. The location is great and the garage is very nice for a town where it can be difficult to find parking. The rooms are all nice but the master is extremely comfortable. We were able to check in early and the owners son met us on time. He was friendly and gave us advice on local spots. The owner even left us a little gift on our second day. The apartment is clean and well equipped.

The views on three sides are breathtaking: across the wooded river valley, towards the lovely town and cathedral and out to sea with the island of St Nicolas. The immediate area is also attractive and fun to explore; quiet beaches, the charming Basque seaside town of Lekeitio and the walk up the valley. The old house has been beautifully and lovingly restored and our self-catering apartment was well-equipped.
Apartment nicely furnished, toiletries were provided along with kitchen soap, laundry soap, salt, sugar and many things that one otherwise has to buy for a short stay ... very convenient. Apartment very close to the center and to the beach but very quiet as the windows look into an internal courtyard and it is on the 4th floor. There is a lift in the building. Check in was automatic (through an app) but the agency was always responsive and available through WhatsApp.
Views of the sea/beach close by, amazing. Garden area was a good place to relax. Had an outside communal kitchen area which they allowed us to use when staff went off sick and couldn’t serve us breakfast.
We did not have breakfast provided, but the cupboards in the kitchen had a good range of essentials ie salt, sugar, spices and oils, as well as all the mugs, plates, bowls and cooking equipment we needed. Also there was a tiny grocery/ fruit and veg ship close by.
As a young family our needs were totally met at Villa Itsaso. It was a beautiful period house in a stunning location overlooking Lekeitio bay. The views from our apartment were so beautiful. The kitchenette allowed us to make our own small meals and eat out for dinner. The kids were in heaven with the garden, fountain, piano, ponies and beach. We had lots of space. The drive up the hill is longer than the walk down the path back to town. Beaches are clean and safe with good amenities. Can't recommend it enough!
