Location is right on main street. Back yard area was really cool, especially all the covered areas (great plannning as you can be dry outside even when raining).

For El Valle de Anton:
We spent 2 nights at Patti’s home. We were hosted in her apartment that is really cozy and stylish. Very comfortable bed and large windows with a wonderful view of the mountains and lush forest. Her bookshelf is amazing and made such a wonderful impression. The kitchen is well furnished with the essentials and we used it with great pleasure. The downtown center is relatively close (~30mins) for those that do not mind walking. We visited “La India Dormida” from there early in the morning and saw some beautiful birds and butterflies. We also enjoyed “El Pastoreo”, a very nice trail-loop close to her property that reaches higher up in the mountain nearby and where you can admire the whole Valle de Anton with an exceptional view. The driveway is very steep but we didn’t have any problems walking it. Valle de Anton is conveniently reachable from Panama city in about 3 hours with buses every ~30 mins. Thank you so much Patti for making our trip such a memorable adventure. We hope to be back one day and enjoy more of your beautiful place.

It´s a place full of colors and with a very nice weather. There are several places to visit very different one from the others. Also a beautiful Catholic church, a Butterfly paradise, and a way to climb the mountain (India dormida). Some restaurants with a variety of deliciuous regional dishes.

It's a pleasant little mountain town that I think attracts locals escaping the heat. If you are hiking - I bet it's great. but if you are just bumming around, in two days you've seen everything twice. The zoo is a little depressing. There are some great places to eat. And if you are into geology, find an overlook and ponder how much ash got blown out to create a caldera this large. You can see the feet of the volcano surrounding the valle, and then ponder the fact that the actual peak collapsed below your feet.

Beautiful place full of residents who LOVE nature & gardening, plants & flowers. Relaxing & with a cool climate unlike the rest of Panama (aside from boquete which is the other end of the country).

A great place for a weekend getaway, with lots of outdoor activities at a nice leisurely pace. We didn't have a vehicle so we chose to stay on the main street, and everything was in a decent walking distance or you could use a bicycle which were widely available. I would happily return to do some of the other activities we didn't get to this time around.

This is a great town for relaxation & to capture true Panamanian hospitality. Visiting the Victoriano Lorenzo museum is a must if you want to learn some of the region history. It’s a humble but very informative spot with an excellent bilingual host/guide. Several good spots to eat & it’s easy to get around the town.

There are many great spots in the Valle.
There are many great spots in the Valle. If you like to hike it seems like there are a LOT of places to explore - some with or without a guide. I would have liked one more day to venture further to see some of the waterfalls in the area besides the most accessible one in el Valle. While it wasn't too crowded, it would have been nice to be on a quieter trail.
