Located on the picturesque Isle of Raasay, a 5-minute walk from the ferry terminal, newly refurbished in 2013 Raasay House Hotel is nestled in a Georgian mansion with beautifully landscaped lawns.
Set in a converted cluster of fisherman’s houses along Portree Harbor the hotel offers plenty of character and quirks. There are 17 bedrooms with attached bathroom with all expected facilities.

Lovely location on the harbor. Easy walking distance to all amenities.
Overlooking Portree’s quaint harbor, this contemporary hotel serves fresh produce from Skye and the surrounding Scottish Highlands in its restaurant, Dulse & Brose.

We loved the room. It was extremely comfortable. The staff were amazing and the breakfast was very nice.
In 15 acres of private grounds, this hotel features spectacular views over Portree Bay to the Cuillin Mountain range. It has an award-winning restaurant and a range of whiskeys on offer.
If you can stay on Isle of Skye, do so. While the ferry ride is short, there are very few things to do on Raasay and only one, possibly two restaurants of any type. The hotel itself is beautiful, but the room we had which must have at one time been the attic room for servants was so small, the queen size bed barely fit. Our window looked out on the back yard and was where the garbage cans were. It was quite noisy as staff hauled out garbage and clanked bottles late at night. Also there was no shade onthe window to block the light from the enormous street light. The library was beautiful and filled with interesting books and things, but the small coal (I think) fireplace was underwhelming. The staff was great! Mostly students working the summer, but really efficient and pleasant. I would have a different review perhaps if my room had been better.

The Distillery is a great option to stay while visiting the Highlands and going up north. It's a top choice to feel and breathe the nature while enjoying a very comfortable evening. It is a good idea to bring the car into the island if you can spare the time to tour around - just beware that you have to fit your schedule to the ferry timetables and it can be tricky on Sundays. Regarding meal options, also note that there could be no other options apart from the hotel ( we were here mid-May).

The location, walking, scenery is fantastic, distillery tour is interesting and whisky tasting is informative. Staff are friendly and informative.
The downstairs room (6) requires work, has no openable windows, no AC and has forced air ventilation which is noisy and can’t be switched off. Basin is set far too low for use and there is no hot water in the basin. No place to unpack clothes so if staying longer than one night, have to live out of your suitcase

An absolutely stunning location and a lovely hotel. The food was good and we loved the bar and library. Our special thanks go to the staff who were so helpful with absolutely everything.. they even somehow arranged for a surprise birthday flower delivery to the island!
Our only regret was that due to our form of payment we missed the opportunity to leave a tip. It doesn't make up for it but hopefully this review at least puts a smile on the team's faces. We will definitely recommend to others and we owe a double tip for next time!
An amazing place which we enjoyed so much - the house was luxurious and the nature breathtaking - absolutely a highlight on our Scotland tour - would have loved to stay longer - highly recommendable - the local Whiskey distillery was a great experience and the Raasay hotel provided an opportunity to purchase a minivan ride from property to ferry upon departure.
For sure one of the best in the area. Quiet area, very nice rooms and the view over Isle of Skye is stunning. The area around the hotel is just amazingly clean and very well maintaining. Personnel very friendly, food just amazing. I could not ask for more! All was above my expectations.
Such a special place, well worth the big trek to get there. If you are staying at the hotel go for the last whiskey tasting as all the day trippers have left.
