We felt comfortable and at home at this lovely, humble guest house. We had some issues with our room the first night, which were resolved quickly with a lot of empathy and care. We even got a very nice dinner as an apology. The staff and owner are amazing!

Great restaurants along the coast. When paying by card, there is a 5% surcharge on the price everywhere.
Swimming with the dolphins was an amazing experience.
Snorkeling off Tumbatu Island was a big disappointment, the coral is practically non-existent.
There are too many beach boys on the beach, some are really insistent.

The beach is nice and clean.
The beach is nice and clean. There is so many activities to do there. I didn't like how the locals takes advantage of holiday makers. They charge you more money, if they know you are not from that area. Its best to be aware of prices of commodities. I really didn't like that. Someone wanted to charge me Ts15,000 for a packet of cigarettes. That packet of cigarettes is Ts 3000. What a rip off.

Unfortunately the beach at Nungwi is quite littered which is sad. The local traders need to understand that they are far more likely to make sales if they allow people to browse in their shops without being pounced on. I would have happily browsed in all of the shops and probably bought quite a bit but as it was I felt too hassled so didn't go into any of them. Just say hi to customers and let them look around until they need you!

Close to a good very beautiful beach with no tides, a supermarket, a fish market. Everything is nearby.
It's wonderful that there is a spacious full kitchen here, because we were in Zanzibar for almost a month and it was important for us to eat home-cooked food.
Beautiful, relaxing and serene, perfect place to unwind. Really lovely staff, special shout out to 'the hulk' who does the loungers on the beach, he really went out of his way for everyone.

Location is very convenient for the beach, the rooms are basic, staff are very friendly and lovely ! But few issues made my stay not so enjoyable, first the WiFi only works in certain parts of the accommodation, needs to have a better ceiling fan or AC as it’s very hot in Zanzibar, loads of lizards and insects around the rooms, Papaya has some room to grow to shine be a 5* accommodation
