Our stay was truly exceptional, from the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed. The resort has a great location two minutes walk from white sandy Beach with Crystal clear turquoise water. The staff was really friendly willing to assist in every request. They do assist you with transportation and booking you your required trips. The resort has two indoor pools and very nice rooms.

The beach is nice and clean. There is so many activities to do there. I didn't like how the locals takes advantage of holiday makers. They charge you more money, if they know you are not from that area. Its best to be aware of prices of commodities. I really didn't like that. Someone wanted to charge me Ts15,000 for a packet of cigarettes. That packet of cigarettes is Ts 3000. What a rip off.

Unfortunately the beach at Nungwi is quite littered which is sad. The local traders need to understand that they are far more likely to make sales if they allow people to browse in their shops without being pounced on. I would have happily browsed in all of the shops and probably bought quite a bit but as it was I felt too hassled so didn't go into any of them. Just say hi to customers and let them look around until they need you!

Nungwi is the perfect place for recharging from everyday rush and stress. I was there a bit off season but that's what made it even better. Fresh seafood, all kind of tours, white sands and clear water. Perfect!

The hotel was fantastic, except for the people on the beach...
The hotel was fantastic, except for the people on the beach trying to sell us excursions or asking us to visit their beachside stores. We took a tour of Stone Town, arranged through the hotel, that was fantastic. The guide was knowledgeable and personable. The cost was $40 per person and lasted over 4 hours. We would definitely return if able.

The beaches in Nungwi are great, both for going to the beach and for walking on the sand, and the high tide and low tide are not so strong
I didn't like the fact that there is a lot of mess, you look and see that the locals simply don't care about the surroundings, they throw garbage everywhere and it's annoying that you are constantly disturbed on the beach by those who want to sell something

Amazing hotel, staff extremely nice and so friendly. Hotel room was comfortable and clean. Lots of swimming pools, including a swim up bar swimming pool. Beautiful private beach, fantastic gym and food was very nice. Riu Jambo is probably one of the nicest hotels I have ever stayed in. We travel to Tanzania a lot and visiting Zanzibar is always included in our trips. Now staying in Riu Jambo is added to the trips! We loved itband can't wait to return.

Breakfast was very delicious and satisfying ( that pancakeee :), I am a serious coffee addict and they have various coffee selection.
Before coming to Zanzibar, I had some question on my mind about the food, but the hotel's food is really successful. The hotel has 2 chefs and they do great job.
And the hotel is very close to the most famous nungwi beach. We will definitely come again.
We have miniscule to no remarks on our experience at Canary. The staff was extremely helpful; John really assisted us greatly. On our last day in Zanzibar (after checkout) we were allowed to shower at their facilities, so we could spend the day at the beach.
The room was clean, comfortable and a lovely place to rest.
We didn't try the breakfast or restaurant, so we don't know about that.
We had the pleasure to spend six nights with Colin and Lesley and had such a great time. super nice location in Nungwi. perfect for the peace and quiet we wanted. The food was great and we just felt so relaxed just being there.
If you want a five star all inclusive hotel this is not for you but if you wanna feel like a home Ana’s from home this is the place to be in Zanzibar.
