Location was very close to the west entrance and down town was convenience to everything. Room and kitchen were appropriate and clean. The kitchen was well stocked for cookings.

It’s a great location to drive back and forth to the park. The town is mostly hotels, souvenir shops, convenience stores and restaurants. Cute and small.—mimics an old west town. We walked everywhere. The Timberline (clean homestyle restaurant) had a great breakfast. We also had a great burger and fries at the Canyon street grill (50’s style diner), and we didn’t get a milkshake, but the people next to us did, and they looked delicious. Be prepared that all the lodging is super pricey.

Best place to stay if you are visiting Yellowstone. Yellowstone west gate is just 5 mins from here, which is the best entrance to see all places in Yellowstone. Good hotels, restaurants, shops and is a nice town to walk in the evening.

Great place to visit for family that love nature and hiking. For sure there a lot of driving around and walking so make sure to bring snacks and lots of fluid for hydration. Best time to visit the attractions is early in the morning to avoid the crowd. And book the activities you want to experience way in advance.

Cute tourist town just outside the park entrance. There were a lot of shops and places to eat. It was fun to drive around and see everything it had to offer. Our daughter actually played at the park while we waited to check into our hotel. We ate at the Slippery Otter and liked it. The salads there were amazing! We also got Haagen Daz ice cream which was an added bonus! I’ve never seen a Haagen Daz ice cream stand before.

Unfortunately all food outlets close by 9:00 so plan your day accordingly .
Would have expected food outlets to stay open longer especially in summer.

It's extremely touristy, but also convenient.
It's extremely touristy, but also convenient. The shops are all the same kitschy items and cheap t shirts. Lots of dining options though. We did enjoy the Grizzly and Wolf Discovery Center, and if we'd had more time it would have been really interesting to do the historical walk around town. My husband was a forest firefighter so the ranger's visitors center would have been interesting. There are a few gems here and there, like Mountain Mama's coffee shop. We liked Beartooth BBQ as well. Everyone was friendly and this was the best place to stay for an early start into Yellowstone!

West Yellowstone is right next to the park and Al's is the place in town nearest the entrance. Standard motel with everything good. Shame no microwave or kettle or coffee maker but there is an arrangement with the petrol station immediately behind the motel for free coffee and hot water. The motel is relatively expensive but this is the price range if West Yellowstone and what you pay for being near the park. We would happily stay there again.
Extremely welcoming and helpful reception staff. There were two (married) couples in the reception during our stay, and they were so friendly, gave os lots of advice and took a real interest in our trip. The best hotel welcome we've ever had!
The deluxe double room was nice and spacious (less spacious with both a roll in bed and the pull out bed in use, but one would expect that).
West Yellowstone is a great location for exploring Yellowstone.
Great location for Yellowstone if only the authorities had not closed the park! Not the hotels fault and they were very helpful in letting me cut short my stay due to the park closure. I will use this place again when I make another attempt to visit Yellowstone. Don't let 1 star put you off. If all you need is a decent sized room with a comfortable bed, Wi-Fi and a good shower then this is perfect.
Very good hotel, clean with all amenities and very close to the west entrance. Breakfast is very decent. Fridge and microwave in the room which is convinient for the early birds planning to go visit the park. Free parking spots in front of the hotel. Globally I consider it to be a pretty good deal for the price in this area.
