The river walk is great--and don't miss walking across the Madison-Milton bridge. Lovely old homes with iron wrought gates. We ate at the Red Pepperoni--recommend! And Chilly Billy's down by the river walk was great for ice cream. Go to the visitor center to get a map of what to see!

Main street is great because doesn't have fast food, but too many "antique" could have a better farmer market, but I guessed it's not a full swing season yet!!!
The tomahawk pork chops at "Red on main" are great to share with your partner and it's delicious.
The art galleries are pretty good, specially the artist due the painting at you hotel lobby. I purchased smaller copy of it. Overall I think I will come back.

Our trip to Madison, IN exceeded our expectations.
Our trip to Madison, IN exceeded our expectations. The people are so friendly and the city is steeped in history, it was like taking a step back in time. We enjoyed our visit and could’ve stayed a few days longer sightseeing and visiting the downtown shops.

Madison is a cute historical town with great small restaurants, boutique shops and antique malls. There is a nice state park with great hiking and beautiful views. It's easy to navigate through the city and is also a good central location to many areas that are great for day trips!

Madison is known as The Music City of Indiana!
Madison is known as The Music City of Indiana! We went to a show at The Red Bicycle Hall and ate delicious food at Off Broadway Tap Room. We stayed at The Riverboat Inn and Shopped some boutiques like Scarlett Begonias and had a wonderful time! Highly recommend!
I was pleasantly surprised about the professional approach and laid back attitude when it came to both checking in and out. The staff wasn't pushy about checkout like most hotels/ motels are. The breakfast was OK but that is minor to how wonderful the staff was.. From manager down to housekeeping, they wer, are great.
We enjoyed the park as a whole. The hiking trails and downtown Madison is why we visited. There was a wedding party there, but we didn't hear any parting going on. The location is great. Very close to historic downtown Madison.
The staff was very nice and helpful. The room was a good size and the hotel was close to the Clifty Falls State Park and the town of Madison. Breakfast was adequate, with waffles, oatmeal, fruit, and more.
The view was beautiful and the balcony was private. We were on the third floor and could see the bridge crossing over to Kentucy and the view of downtown Madison to the Smoke stacks towards Cliffy Falls.
