Despite all the negative you tend to hear, I never felt unsafe, the food is all amazing, the people are friendly and the over all atmosphere is relaxing, the driving is next level insane, but once you get used to eat you notice you don't actually see many accidents compared to home. I will definitely return.
Be smart and you will be safe, where in the world does this not apply.

Cali is a very hospitable city, great people, good restaurants and hotels, interesting geography especially as you travel around the outskirts. But the roads are the WORST. I won't drive there, because of the gazillions of motos that float around your car like mosquitoes. I've driven in Mexico City and Paris and this is worse. And the sidewalks, generally, need to be repaired. We love to walk, but we're getting a little older and having to negotiate around broken concrete on the sidewalks in a hilly environment is just not fun. But definitely worth a visit. We're told that you have to be careful, and we were (there's street crime) but we didn't experience any and the people we met were universally wonderful. Colombians are very courteous people and I really appreciate that aspect of their culture. I need to learn from them.

I've been to Cali twice and my experience has left me planning to explore other areas of Colombia. The people are friendly, food is fresh and tasty and the area is beautiful and CLEAN! I've never seen cleaner roads and public spaces anywhere.

Cali is so amazing and underrated... but I think that's a good thing. Make sure you go to Mulato Cabaret for the experience of a lifetime! The zoo is not bad either. There's tons of outdoor activities to do in mountains and rivers too.

We traveled to watch the Feria de Cali, and we felt very safe, it was absolutely incredible. Taxi drivers very friendly, people in Cali very nice and super helpful. We are coming back this year again. We loved it so much, the gastronomy is incredible, great food, and the cocktails to die for. Salsa bars incredible and everything was great. We watched the Grupo Nice live and free at one of the parks and it was MAGIC. LOVED IT CALI.

Great city with a tropical feel to it. I have been in many countries and I cannot compare it with Indonesia or The Phillipines although the first couple of days I was confused, but as soon as you start to walk on the streets you really feel this is a totally unique area with its own unique vibe. The air is fresh, streets in the main areas are clean and there is quiet some security and police outthere. I have been staying in Miraflores, El Penon and the centre city and Cuidad Jardin.
Great location in the south side of Cali, perfect for shopping, restaurants, and visiting the city's landmarks.
Lovely hotel with modern amenities, great pool and jacuzzi, pool side bar and restaurant.
The suite and presidential suite rooms are the best for space, luxuries and a good coffee machine.
The hotel is connected to a shopping mall and has easy access to Unicentro across the road. Perfect for retail therapy.
Helen was an excellent host who gave us tips about the area and recommended things for us to see and do on our short visit to Cali. Her apartment is very pretty and comfy and we felt very at home and welcome there. She went out of her way to help us, location is good and the bed.was the most comfortable I had during my entire.time.in Colombia - thank you Helen ☺️
An older colonial style hotel that nonetheless offers a pretty comfortable stay. Bed was comfortable. Plenty of hot water. WiFi signal was strong. Breakfast had nice options. Safe area and walking distance to the nicest sights in Cali. Great location. Hiked the Tres Cruces trail as the trailhead was very close to the hotel.
