Called the Amber Capital of the World, Gdańsk is the major shipping seaport and the most beautiful city along the Polish Baltic coast. It has everything from fascinating history and great architecture to a friendly atmosphere!
Also known as Danzig due to its complex past with periods of Polish, German and self-rule, the city is part of the Tricity urban area together with the port city of Gdynia and the popular spa town Sopot. It’s also a birthplace of the world-famous Solidarity movement, which helped to bring down Communist rule in Poland, initiating the end of the Cold War era.
Its charming buildings were rebuilt in a historical style after the city's near-complete destruction during World War II. You can admire the colorful townhouses of the Old Town by boat on the Motlawa River or by strolling down the popular Long Street and Long Market.
While in Gdańsk, make sure you visit the 15th-century St. Mary’s Church, the largest brick church in Europe, and make a wish at the Neptune Fountain, the city’s patron. While in town, try the legendary local Goldwasser liqueur with 22 karat gold flakes!

Very beautiful city with breath-taking architecture and history - definitely worth visiting. However, we had experienced very horrible situation with local conductors at the tram on our way to Gdansk city center. We made a mistake and didn't realise we bought just 1 ticket instead of 4 (in tram it's possible to buy only 1 ticket with 1 card - NO INFORMATION ANYWHERE IN ENGLISH WHATSOEVER). Conductors were trying to force us to pay 200 euro fine for 3 persons. They called the police on us and so on... In the end we paid nothing, but it left a very bad image of the city in our heads - can't imagine wanting to go back there again... Very sad for Gdansk and be careful everyone, planning to visit it in the future!

Beautiful ,quirky European City , interesting and full of history and attractions -some of which we had no time to attend - like concerts in the docks . Loved the galeon Lew (Lion) cruise , Westerplatte trip and The dockyard walk - very sentimental travel back in time. Must see!!!

Gdansk is probably my favorite city in Poland and I will came back always! You must stay next to the city center in Gdansk, visit Oliwa park, learn about why the cranes are a symbol of the city, go to Sopot to visit the pier and book a spa day. In Sopot, rent a scooter and ride on the bike lane by the sea shore all the way back to Gdansk. Go on a day trip to visit the Malbork castle. And so much more! :)

Gdansk is a beautiful city full of magnificent buildings...We took a 2 hour City tour by one of the small golf cart type vehicles and it would recommend that as it helped us to decide which places to return to . The guide Norris Cabrera was also very knowledgeable about the history of the city.
The WW2 War 2 museum and the Town Hall were among our favourites. St Bridget's , St Mary's Basilica are 2 of the Churches well worth a visit.
A boat trip to Sopot is also very good. The city has an abundance of restaurants ...many Italian as well as Polish It is a very vibrant city.

It is a really interesting place, they have combined a modern city with a superb historical environment and being by the sea very pleasant. From an historical point it combined a history of many centuries with modern history.
Magnificent location, fantastic view. Rooms were ample, with good sized comfotable beds. A little dated but cozy. Decent restaurant, and good breakfast. However, it was cheaper to get breakfast in nearby restaurants, unless you are able to maximise the all you can eat. (28 PLN vs 45 PLN for the hotel one.)
The location of the hotel is perfect. Short walk to beachfront restaurants, tram stop 3 min walk away to take number 3 to city centre. Beach in front of the hotel. Perfect!
The hotel is chic and very stylish. The decor is gorgeous in even small details.
The hotel restaurant serves delicious cocktails 🍸 and a nice breakfast with Prosecco 🥂
Our waiter was very nice, quick and polite - and he was the best English speaker among all the hotel employees we met in all of our travels in Poland 🇵🇱
The pool area is gorgeous, but the pool can be crowded sometimes. It’s mostly for play, not for swimming.
It was a pleasant stay overall.
The hotel is in a great location, in the Old Town, and not too far to the main train station. We used the taxi from the airport organised by the hotel which suited us. The room was spacious and clean. We had a great view of the river from our window.
We enjoyed the buffet style breakfast. The reception staff were friendly and helpful, as were those in the eating areas. It was good to have a fridge in the room too.
The hotel is situated in an excellent position, a stone throw away from old town but with easy access via tram, bus and train to get to wherever you want. Walking distance to great restaurants and convenient stores.. loved that the hotel provided carafes in the room you could fill free with cold water, still or sparkling. Breakfast was amazing , so much choice .
The hotel is on the border of the very centre of Gdańsk: perfect combination of short distance to the old town and quietness. It’s a place with one of the best breakfasts I’ve had a chance to eat in Poland. Varied, with a hint of local delicacies, delicious.
The swimming pool is another asset. Very nice option to relax after a long-day’s walk around the city.
The overall style is impressive and welcoming. There are two kitchens in the fridge, with enough space for however much food you might have!
The spaces are kept clean, both the kitchen and the private rooms (though you are never safe from smelly roommates).
The bathrooms are the best I've seen in any hostel in Poland (I've visited 6)
Spacious room, clean, great beds, TV with Netflix and YouTube, coffee machine, washing machine. Excellent location, just few metres away from Old Town with many grocery stores, restaurants and attractions all within walking distance. The staffs were all very helpful and attended to our needs promptly. Felt like staying in a 5 star hotel.
It is right next to a tram stop that takes you straight into the old town of Gdansk. It is also next to a major train station that offers service down to Warsaw within a few hours, and even other European countries. There were also two cafés on the first floor of the hotel, and it is right around the corner from a large shopping mall.
Very convenient location for the old town and the Christmas market. The room was clean and spacious. The bathroom was clean and modern. The bed was very comfortable and big. The staff were very friendly. The bistro in the hotel does some amazingly delicious food for a very good price
Excellent breakfast - there was everything (absolutely awesome choice of hot/cold meals, vegetable, fruits, yogurts, desserts etc.).
Restaurant&bar in the hotel building.
Location - easy to walk to the city centre (15 min),calm area.
Entry to the spa included in the room price.
The location was very good and quiet. There are many shops to offer, restaurants, cafe, pharmacy, supermarket and hair dresser nearby.
For the value of the money, the hotel is good. It is also half an hour to the airport by taxi and walking distance to old town center.
Just 10 minutes walking distance from the old town. So if you are looking to be just slightly outside of the bustle and hustle this hotel is perfect. Good size spa facilities (steam bath, dry sauna, jacuzzi, pool). Very friendly and helpful staff. Clean rooms.
When I booked this hotel I was attracted by the history of the place and by the fact that it was a 4 stars hotel. I still think it has a lot of potential, but some things must change.
The location is quite close to the old town, 15-20 minutes walk.
A nice small hotel in a quiet part of the city, abt 15 minutes by car to Old Town.
New (or renovated) building, friendly staff, very clean rooms, tasty breakfast,
tea/coffee/wine (!) available 24/7 :)
Spacious private parking as well.
The hotel is very close to old town and we could see the back of St. John's church from our window. The breakfast was good, the room was clean and the staff was friendly and helpful just as in most of our chosen properties.
The hotel is the place to stay in Gdansk, Poland. I would love to be back with my family sometime soon. However, I have this little creepy experience in the hotel bath mirrors.. but it's maybe crazy imagination.. 😉😜
The Location of this hotel is SUPERB and our room had a view to the old town square! I absolutely loved it. Gdansk is such a beautiful city that it almost looks unreal. Staying at this hotel was magical.
This was a friendly hotel for our first night of a short stay in Poland. It is easily accessible from Gdansk Airport and is within striking distance of the old town and the main railway station.
