Restaurant really nice design and the food was very good. Very accommodating staff, great location, easy parking, nice atmosphere. Nice shower gel product. Very good housekeeping. Lovely grounds and easy access to walking through the castle grounds.

On arrival we were met by the very friendly and helpful General Manager. After a long day travelling, during which we did no know if we would arrive, Christina welcomed us, showed us around, explained policies etc, let us know about local restaurants and said we could call her if we had any issues.
The Castle was fantastic. A really amazing place to stay. Also, it was only about 25mins from Calanais Stones.

Ali had some great suggestions on things to do in the local area. My parents were extremely happen with the suggestion to go to Huisinis, my mom had the time of her life there.

Beautifully decorated and superbly clean. We walked in and were welcomed by the fireplace on and lemongrass in the air. There was a wonderful little welcome basket as well. I was able to do a load of laundry which was massively helpful on our trip. Chrissie was always accessible for questions and assistance. Wonderful space and hope to stay again in the future. Great location for basing yourself to do excursions around the island.

Town was disappointing. Not scenic. Little in the way of quality restaurants. Sunday sabbath brings the town to a close.

Stornoway is a bit run down and not very pretty.
But it has all the shops and restaurants and the ferry, so makes it a good place to stay for convenience.
But there are much prettier places on Lewis…
We ate at HS-1 restaurant twice and would highly recommend.

Very easy place to navigate.
Very easy place to navigate. Plenty of interesting and beautiful day trips. It's fun taking the ferry across from the mainland, seeing the dolphins. Most things are closed on the Outer Hebrides on Sunday, but it's rather delightful to have a quiet day appreciating nature , visiting old churches.

Stunning wild scenery. Windy and wet! Some places are at end of long single lane roads but well worth visitind. Apart from the obvious sites do visit Hushinish Beach. Beautiful silver sand and probably the highlight of our trip.
Restaurants for dinner in Stornoway need to be booked in advance, Do go to the Boatshed and Blakes.

Stornaway is a pleasant port town with a laid back feel and some industrial areas and parts that could do with a spruce up.
The towns got plenty of supermarkets & independents too as well as plenty of restaurants & takeaways.
Travelling around Lewis & Harris is best done by car, but it is possible to use the buses to visit lots of places too. Just double check your times with the drivers.
The beaches are stunning!

Small historic town, that is the ideal for travelling to Harris. There are a few historic sites to see but some of them were not open when we visited. Sunday very quiet with nothing open or available to do. Great place to go for a relaxing retreat.
This is a great two bed property which is perfectly placed in Stornoway for those looking for their own private facilities. It was clean and well-kept and was located only a few hundred metres away from a very large supermarket which was extremely convenient. It was an easy walking distance into town as well. Communication with the owner was great. Highly recommended property.
Had a very nice 4 night stay here, ideal location for Stornoway and good for parking outside flat, the place is nice and spacious, sure we’ll be back in the area sometime in the future and I would consider using this place again. Thanks for the treats 😋
