Partially located in the Peak District, Sheffield is best known as the setting of "The Full Monty" and indeed, vibrant Sheffield has everything: excellent shopping, great nightlife and an impressive athletic heritage.
It first became famous during the Industrial Revolution for its pioneering role in the UK steel industry. One technique invented here is commemorated in the name of its most famous theater, The Crucible, home of the Snooker World Championships.
Close by are the peaceful Winter Gardens with their multi-arched roof. The Peace Gardens are overlooked by the elegant town hall, and the focal building of the impressive Botanical Gardens somewhat resembles Crystal Palace, also by the same architect.
The city’s 2 soccer teams – Sheffield United and Wednesday – play at Bramall Lane and Hillsborough Stadium respectively. The cutting-edge English Institute of Sport is also based here, and the nearby Sheffield Arena is a prime UK venue for music and entertainment. The best shopping is found in the Meadowhall Centre near Rotherham.
Booking.com’s Sheffield accommodations include city center hotels with parking, others by Victoria Train Station, and guesthouses near Doncaster Sheffield Robin Hood Airport.
Sheffield is a lovely city, very friendly people have time...
Sheffield is a lovely city, very friendly people have time to stop and say hello and or tell you the best & affordable places to eat & visit. So much to do with free activities, easy access to the Peak District if you don't have transport. The bus is just a brisk 5 minute walk down the road. Also a free bus taking you around the city centre. There is a variety of international food outlets in/outdoors, food/ music/art festivals, 1/2 term family entertainment & so much more. Although the city centre resembles a building site the Local Authority & partners are trying to make it more appealing for businesses to lay down roots bringing in a variety trade for residents & those visiting our beautiful city❤️ and most important safe from motorists who want to bring terror to our city making it difficult by installing Stainless steel ballards preventing vehicles from bringing harm to our city so we can shop, eat, meet friends & family in relative peace.🗣️🧑🦯👨🏾🦼🧑🦽🚴🤹🏼♀️👩🏽🍳🥝🥥🥑🍠🍰🍽️🥢🍹🚣🏽♀️🐎🎢🎡🎠

I graduated from Sheffield around 20 years ago, and this was the first time I stay over since my graduation although I visited the city a couple of times. So much has changed, and Sheffield looks more modern and more cosmopolitan now. With a nice range of restaurants and a large student community and a great art scene (theatre especially), I recommend Sheffield as a base place to explore South Yorkshire as well the Midlands as it is half an hour away from cities like Nottingham, Derby or Leicester. I love Sheffield accent too. A great city with a lovely people.

Went to the Pantomime which was very good. The Town Centre needs a rethink. Shops down market. Could do with more parks less ugly building development. I think it is a great place to go to University.

According to my daughter in law ( who lives near the hotel) , the city is now a place she avoids going with all the homeless that are making some areas disgusting , as they have been tipped out of surrounding towns.
I enjoy the areas going out to the Peak District.
There are some really nice coffee shops and restaurants around “ Eccy rd”.

This hotel is very well located, close to the city centre and other attractions.
We have stayed here before and the high standards remain.
Our twin en-suite room was warm and comfortable with the usual tea-making facilities.
Staff were very friendly and welcoming and checked on us via text throughout our stay.
Buffet breakfast was good.
We used the limited space car park which is a great help.
We did have a meal one evening which was standard fare but freshly heated/made and on a cold, wet, bleak evening, satisfactory.
Second stay here. Great value for money for a quick overnight if visiting the city centre. Rooms are small and basic but are clean and comfy. The hotel was quiet despite it being a Friday night before Christmas. You can pay more for worse in Sheffield if you wanted.
The hotel is clean, freshly designed and is very close to city centre. Not to mention also it’s very accesible via trams & buses from Sheffield train station if you’re coming here via train.
Stayed with dogs and the room was ideal. Hotel is not far from city centre, but in a quiet neighbourhood with a beautiful garden. We usually stay here now when we visit family in Sheffield.
