A nice little town, there are the expected tourist shops sellign tartan tat, but ignoring those there's a good range of useful and interesting shops and cafe/restuarants, and the brilliant Pitlochry Theatre. If you can get a trip here when the highland games are on, they're not to be missed.

Although the place can be busy and crowded with other tourists at times, it maintains a nice ambiance. There are some excellent coffee/cake cafes and some good restaurants and its location is ideal for exploring the ‘lower’ highlands.

The performances at the Festival Theatre are always superb, and you can see half a dozen different shows in a week. Although we go specially for the Theatre, there are many attractive places to visit nearby, including fabulous shopping at House of Bruar, great waterfalls, sites of historic interest such as the soldier's leap and the castle at Blair Atholl, and there are many excellent places to eat. We particularly like the Plaice to Be for a cheap and cheerful meal.

Enjoyed the stay at the hotel. The staff was very helpful and pleasant to speak to. Hotel itself was good but the rooms could probably do with a bit of modernization. They were clean big and comfortable good sized bathroom. Ye I would stay there again the next time I visit Pitlochry.
