Hadn't stayed in a hostel for a while, but the facilities were very decent in this one. Had a solo room, although without en-suite facilities.
The Eastern European lady behind the front desk was fantastic, and couldn't do enough.

Hawes makes for an excellent base for both walking and visiting the sights of the Dale's. The pubs are great and the local shops are mostly specialised local businesses. We visited in the winter when very quiet and ideal for finding parking spaces which would be at a premium during the summer. We stayed in the White Hart Inn which was very welcoming and comfortable.

Lots of amazing, signposted walks and a choice of lovely pubs to enjoy at the end. Always a bit annoying with a larger dog who can't fit through the walls/ fences (I understand this is for the sheep), but with careful planning can manage a nice walk and avoid these. We ate at The White Hart which was delicious as always (impressive cheeseboard) and enjoyed our first mulled wine of the year at The Fountain hotel. For a nice view and a beer, wrap up and sit outside the Simonstone Hotel about a mile out of the centre.

Hawes is a lovely village in the Dales which we have been visiting for many years. Don't miss the Wensleydale Creamery. The fountain pub is very welcoming to families. Other local attractions include antique shops, the rope maker and the visitors centre and museum.

The scenery is beautiful and there are plenty of places to call for a snack/pub lunch or evening meal.
Everyone was helpful and friendly.
The only issue was the public car parks. You could not use coins/cards and the app is a real nuisance.!!

Hawes has a wonderful charm, beautifully kept homes and buildings and easy to get to local attractions.
At the end of the town is a very popular Fish and Chip restaurant where the portions are generous and you can actually see your order being cooked. There is also an eating place over the local Spar shop
great for families with basic good food.

went there for a specific event.
went there for a specific event. It's a small and isolated town amidst beautiful scenery. There are limited places to eat especially in the evening, several local pubs have closed or stopped doing food. In town there was one gastropub (good but pricey), one Indian restaurant (good and good value), and one trad cafe/diner which stayed open early evening otherwise its fish & chips or pizza takeaways. It's a long drive to the next nearest places doing evening food. During the day the Wensleydale Creamery offers good food and there is a decent bikers cafe on the main street.
Several nearby historic pubs well worth a visit, Green Dragon Hardraw 1.5 miles, Rose & Crown Bainbridge 4 miles, Tann Hill Inn 8 miles.

Hotel was in centre of Hawes so obviously location was ideal. The access to the car park was somewhat tight (I had to put my wing mirrors in to get through the gap at the back at the hotel) but still it was good to have a free parking space in such a busy little town. The room was OK but I overall I don't think it was worth the price we paid especially when compared to other places we booked on this trip. The breakfast overall was good and having a bar downstairs that served food was useful
Fantastic location, just off the main street in centre of Hawes. Cottage was immaculately clean, with everything you would need for a break in the dales. Bed was comfy and linen all top quality. Everything was as pictured and the outside space was a bonus for a brew in the sunshine in the morning. We ate out everyday and had a good selection of pubs and restaurants on our doorstep. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this little gem.
Lovely recreation of an Edwardian Hotel. The food and breakfast were fantastic. Loved view looking down onto Hawes. Also secure bike shed. Staff really friendly and attentive.
