Very friendly staff, lovely setting and really nice food. We stayed as a stopover for one night but could definitely have stayed for longer.
Would definitely return!

Location in Hawes is very convenient. There is no parking but we managed to park nearby for free. Food was excellent. The room was quite large and comfortable. Staff very friendly and helpful.

Breakfast was excellent, was not wanting for anything. Room was small but functional, could have done with a small table work at, although I was able to move the condiments to make available room.

Lots of amazing, signposted walks and a choice of lovely pubs to enjoy at the end. Always a bit annoying with a larger dog who can't fit through the walls/ fences (I understand this is for the sheep), but with careful planning can manage a nice walk and avoid these. We ate at The White Hart which was delicious as always (impressive cheeseboard) and enjoyed our first mulled wine of the year at The Fountain hotel. For a nice view and a beer, wrap up and sit outside the Simonstone Hotel about a mile out of the centre.

Hawes is a lovely village in the Dales which we have been visiting for many years. Don't miss the Wensleydale Creamery. The fountain pub is very welcoming to families. Other local attractions include antique shops, the rope maker and the visitors centre and museum.

The scenery is beautiful and there are plenty of places to call for a snack/pub lunch or evening meal.
Everyone was helpful and friendly.
The only issue was the public car parks. You could not use coins/cards and the app is a real nuisance.!!

Hawes has a wonderful charm, beautifully kept homes and buildings and easy to get to local attractions.
At the end of the town is a very popular Fish and Chip restaurant where the portions are generous and you can actually see your order being cooked. There is also an eating place over the local Spar shop
great for families with basic good food.

went there for a specific event.
went there for a specific event. It's a small and isolated town amidst beautiful scenery. There are limited places to eat especially in the evening, several local pubs have closed or stopped doing food. In town there was one gastropub (good but pricey), one Indian restaurant (good and good value), and one trad cafe/diner which stayed open early evening otherwise its fish & chips or pizza takeaways. It's a long drive to the next nearest places doing evening food. During the day the Wensleydale Creamery offers good food and there is a decent bikers cafe on the main street.
Several nearby historic pubs well worth a visit, Green Dragon Hardraw 1.5 miles, Rose & Crown Bainbridge 4 miles, Tann Hill Inn 8 miles.

I wished I'd had more time to browse around, but we were attending an event so this had to give. Having stayed before, it's quiet despite being touristy, but it retains a charm which I hope it keeps.

Set right in the heart of Hawes, it can be a little noisy until about 10pm when everything goes silent! Plentiful tea, coffee etc in the room, comfortable bed, brilliant shower and very friendly, lovely staff. Varied menu in the pub with a choice of size of our meal. Full of character- what a pub/hotel SHOULD be!
The location was excellent, a lovely spacious cottage with great cooking facilities. I would recommend it. Hawes is superb for walks and there are some good museums and cafes.
It was a great location on the main street in Hawes. We dined at the pub. The food & drink were good. Breakfast was very good. It was excellent value for money.
Beautiful place is Hawes and I defo chose the nicest of the 4 pubs to stay in. I visited all 4 and thus was certainly the nicest and a lovely stay was had
