The location was perfect for our 26-hour layover. Staff was extremely friendly, and continental breakfast was amazing.
You do have to take an Uber or taxi to go anywhere, but it is worth it.

Built on seven hills facing the Tagus River, charming Lisbon is one of the oldest cities in the world. It showcases unique tram rides, intimate Fado performances, great dining venues and much more.
The city is famous for its districts: Belem's famous monuments; Alfama's labyrinth of streets, bars and small shops; and trendy Alcantara's docks. Lisbon’s most popular nightlife and shopping venues are in Bairro Alto, while the traditional heart of the city beats rhythmically in Baixa.
Enjoy a walk through Jardim Botanico, admire the architecture of the Jeronimos Monastery or explore the Feira da Ladra flea market. The Chiado area serves the city's best traditional Portuguese cuisine. No meal is complete without the famous pasteis de nata!
Getting to the city center is only a metro or bus ride from Lisbon Portela Airport. Whether you want a luxury hotel, a friendly guesthouse or a cozy apartment, Booking.com has plenty of accommodations for your vacation in Lisbon.

Full of history and monuments, nice shops on avenida do libertade (sort of a Champs Elysees). Lots of walking all uphill and downhill and stairs (kinda like San Francisco). Definitely not car friendly (hard to drive because of the narrow roads and continuous ups and downs).

Lisboa is a good place to find good food and culture.
Lisboa is a good place to find good food and culture. The city is immerse in turistic places, and there are a lot of places to buy souvenirs (of course, sometimes I think is too much). The not very good thing is that maybe Lisboa is not (anymore) a city with much personality, sometimes other cultures overcome the portuguese heritance. The Pastéis de Nata are absolutely fantastic! I would reccomend the Manteigaria store, is very good. The metro works very well also on holidays.

Lisbon was disappointing.
Lisbon was disappointing. It all seemed tired and dirty and in disrepair in so many areas. The constant in your face harassment as you walked in central restaurant areas was annoying.
The number of homeless was sad to see.

Lisbon is sunny but even though give me a sad vibes! maybe my personal experience
I stayed in a luxury Airbnb first and my experience was little different, suing my car, etc.
But if you are going to use the metro etc it's not nice
I found lot of activities but the city feels cold and dangerous
I travelled solo but meet people there

Prepare a plan to visit areas of the city and its environs, such as Sintra, Cascais and Estorial. Pre-purchase the LisboaCard on the website, collect it and a Guide Book at the airport on arrival, as it covers the Metro, buses and and sightseeing venues, with discounts at others. Rremember the city is built on a hill, and most Metro Stations have escalators and stairs - some escalators required maintenance and an up-escalator was ensured if one had broken down.

Coming from a very small island as an eighty year old, I found Lisbon overwhelming . I love to just wander wherever I visit throughout the year, but did not feel comfortable to do so, because of the vastness. I felt safe .
The hop-on, hop-off buses I love as you get the idea of the layout of a place and I preferred to use these rather than walk about. The different companies were a little confusing as were the bus stops as others also said.
Lisbon is well worth a visit. So much to see and do.

I arrived at the hotel three hours late after being stuck in the immigration queue at Europe's worst airport, Lisbon. At nearly 1am, the staff were amazing, and a very welcome sight. The room was really nice, breakfast was available from 4am, which was important as I wanted to get back to the airport at least 4 hours early. Location was perfect. Less than 5 minutes walk to Terminal 1. One of my best hotel experiences for quite some time.
This hotel was booked for my birthday. A luxury stay and the building and rooms are exceptional. Service is what you would expect from a boutique 5 star hotel and it is to be applauded. Thank you for a lovely stay and I hope to visit your lovely hotel in future. Breakfast immense. Evening meal (extra) and wine exceptional for the price. Stay here for the experience you won't get in most 5* hotels.
Honestly this is one of the best places I've ever stayed at. Everything was brilliant. Location was amazing too, loved the avenue nearby and close to centre, metro, train station. The apartment had everything we could wish for, comfy beds and extremely quiet. If we ever visit Lisbon again we'll be staying here. Staff were extremely helpful. It's part of a 5 star hotel so the service was top level.
The best part is value for money. Compare to other hotels on the same level it was cheaper, for a reason, but still provide a good value for money.
The room is big, the food in the breakfast buffet is okay, the staff is great and helpful.
The location is also great, as it is not in the city centre but very close to a metro station and in a safe and green area.
Amazing from start to finish! The staff were so friendly, so helpful and it was like a 5 star experience. Everything from the room, to the pool to the hotel restaurant was fantastic. We ate three times in the restaurant during our three night stay because the carbonara was the best we had tasted.
