I loved everything about this place!!! Staying in the barrels overlooking the vineyards with that breathtaking view of the village was the absolute most memorable part of our two week trip in Portugal. Highly, highly recommend.

The hotel was beautiful, and the owner was very welcoming and friendly. Staff was a little withdrawn, maybe because of language difficulties. The hotel is the perfect old world & the grounds lovely.

We had a two night stop just outside Lamego mid September, perfect for us. There are enough things to see and do for this period of time including a museum. Unfortunately this was closed during our stay. Thursday appears to be a market day and pretty traditional. The highlight of this city is Santuario de Nossa Senhora dos Remedios. Get ready for some exercise!

We have been travelling for many years and staying through booking.com. Our hosts Jorge and Isobel were simply wonderful and made our 4 day stay in the Douro valley just the best part of our trip. They were welcoming, generous and shared so much hospitality with us. We highly recommend Quinta do Apriceste to anyone travelling to the Douro to make the best of their holiday!

Geographically Lamego is in a hollow.
Geographically Lamego is in a hollow. As I approached from the south in full sun in December you could see Lamego covered in mist, cold damp mist. It lasted for my 3 day stay and the sun was only visible as I left and approached the Duro River!
The accommodation was dia and the highlight was the cheerful taxi driver to took me out!!
Limited walking as two routes were terminated by loose snarling dogs!

Very pretty city, could have spent more time just hanging out and getting to know the city and way of life. If you are there just to walk to the top of the steps to see the cathedral, then one day is sufficient.
The house is an old building made of rock boulders, carefully and tastefully refurbished, comfortable and functional. We enjoyed a lot. The surroundings are fabulous, the little green villages, the vineyards, the spectacular Douro valley, all these make this experience unforgettable. The nearby town of Lamego is absolutely fantastic, as is the christian Sanctuary.
Everything 100%
The staff very friendly
The bed very comfortable and soft pillows.
Powerful shower.
Spotlessly clean throughout hotel.
Great breakfast with fresh scrambled eggs...
2 mins walk into town.
Great underground free parking for bike and lift that goes from there.
Highly recommend
Lovely little sunny balcony.
Lovely big room and a fridge and kettle..
The place is off the beaten path but look for the well posted signage to get to the place, as the GPS coordinates in Booking.com just gets you close and are a little off. Location is a short 8-minute drive into Lamego for a great dinner!
Host was excellent and went out of her way to assist, I was arriving from Porto by bicycle and ran into so issues and was late checking in. My host collected me from Lamego
