Hotel Baia, hotel in Cascais

Located in the center of Cascais, just 66 feet from Fishermans Beach, this hotel features an indoor rooftop pool and an outdoor terrace with panoramic ocean views.

The breakfast buffet was excellent with both hot and cold items and two cappuccino machines, so there was never a line. It was also open from early in the morning until 10:30 for late risers. Dinner in the hotel restaurant was also excellent, we can recommend the lamb and the octopus, although service was extremely slow. The hotel is located right across from the beach and is convenient to everything.

FAQs about hotels in Cascais

Laid-back Suburban Beach Resort

Cascais is a small city located on the outskirts of Lisbon. Once a fishing village and defence outpost, the royalty transformed it into a stylish summer resort. Mixing beautiful beaches, elegant mansions, imposing fortifications, and a wide variety of hotels, Cascais is a great option for every season.

King Luís II used the city as his summer residence from 1870 to 1908, attracting other celebrities, and changing the destiny of the tranquil village forever. Modern roads and railway lines linking to Lisbon and Sintra were built, as well as a casino and other facilities. Some of the best hotels and 5-star resorts in Cascais date back to these times.

Nowadays, the town is a cosmopolitan beach retreat along the Estoril Coast, where people from Lisbon and other Portugal cities come for a day or weekend escapade. Many foreign tourists prefer its more relaxed hotels over the sometimes hectic Lisbon atmosphere.

Don’t miss the Citadel, rebuilt during the 16th century in a typical star-shaped Renaissance style. Other attractions include the Museum of the Sea and the ‘Paula Rego House of Stories’.

Beach hotels are the gem of Cascais and you can find a wide range on Booking.com. Check your availability with enough time in advance, as the city remains a popular summer destination.

Cascais is beautiful, the town, shops, historic buildings, beaches, hire bikes and restaurants all great. and only a short train ride to Lisbon for a day to explore. The best place to stay for a visit to the Lisbon area. We also spent a day exploring Sintra - stunning.

Cascais is a lo lovely place to visit or stay and is close enough to main places to visit, 30m by train to Lisbon and a 30m or1hr bus ride to Sintra depending if you take the scenic route or not which stops at Cabo da Roca, the most Western Point of mainland Europe. The Cacsais Marina is also nice with lots of good restaurants.its a lovely walk from central Cascais to Boca do Inferno along the coast and then a further 10m to Casa da Guia

OK hotel but we were not told until after check in and payment that the Lisbon marathon was the following morning which would block access to the hotel for our car. We had 2 separate flights that morning and would have missed them. No refund was applicable. Also what sort of hotel has no wine or beer and only limited mixers for cocktails at the bar? Totally unacceptable

We loved Cascais and will gladly return there for another visit, although our stay would be longer next time. Our 3-bedroom apartment was perfectly appointed and situated perfectly 100m from the beautiful beach and centrally to where all the restaurants, bars and shops are. Everything was within walking distance. We could not have picked a better place to stay.

Cascais is a most beautiful little town with a lovely coastline, marina and homely feel to it. Some wonderful restaurants to be enjoyed and with its transport links and proximity to Lisbon, it's the perfect place to spend a holiday. Being close to Sintra also makes it even more perfect.

Cascáis was the second part of our journey.

Cascáis was the second part of our journey. We truly loved Lisbon so it took a day to appreciate the differences. Cascais is more casual.. many young people and crowded beaches. We appreciated the food, cafes, views along to coast line, and Palacio Estoril ( was a great place to slow down a bit).

We absolutely fell in love with the Pergola Boutique Hotel from the minute we walked in. The staff are just delightful, friendly and helpful and the building beautiful. We had a room with a balcony which was fabulously spacious and had a stunning bathroom with the best shower ever. Breakfasts were truly delicious - so healthy and fresh and lovely choices. The hotel is a 2 minute walk from the train station yet the street was very quiet. We'd definitely come back.
