Stayed at Shushe during a 21hr layover and couldn’t be happier with my experience. It’s a new hotel so they upgraded my booking to a bigger room with TV (Chinese shows mainly), comfortable bed, tub, amazing sunlight during the daytime; not to mention how clean and new everything is. The owner of the hotel also owns a biotech company nearby in which the gym and the pool actually reside, but can be reached by golf cart on request or by foot (about 7min walk). The staff was also super helpful when I needed help calling a taxi. Didn’t have the chance to have the breakfast buffet (next to the gym) or dine at their German restaurant but overall the hotel had a good atmosphere, was nice to have a quiet stay away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

very nice rooms, beautiful reception area, dining and convenience store, claw grab machines a spa and a gym all inside the premises. metro is a block away, shopping center with multiple restaurants and some fast food options (mcdonald’s, subway, pizza hut, yangs dumplings) also within walking distance. there’s also a costco across the street. breakfast was phenomenal. wish i had stayed here longer, definitely worth it.

I was there for nature and birdwatching. It's a big city that can be further developed. The many micro forests are interesting locations. The Fish sculpture at Nanhui city area is a great place for sunset captures. Nanhui is nature and the air is fresh compared to congested Shanghai city.
