Very like Dublin, but did not feel as affluent.
The Center of Cork is lovely - lots of great Irish pubs/ bars and lots of brilliant live Irish music. The restaurants were excellent and lits of traditional Irish food available. 100% try the English market - it's lots of local food, reasonably priced. Theres so much to do around Cork too - with the wild atlantic way and great connections to other towns in the area. Blarney was a 15 minute drive away - the castle was fab and the town of Blarney was nice to stroll around too.
Cork itself was easy to drive around, even in the center- so dont be put off hiring a car and seeing as much as you can of the area.

A fabulous walkable city with plenty of history, bars, cafes and restaurants. People are extremely friendly and helpful, meal sizes are huge so we only ever ordered one meal to share. Best meal was at The Franciscan Bar & Brewery. It's also close enough to visit Kinsale. The public transport is also excellent.
