AA Homestay, hotel in Mulu

Located in Mulu, AA Homestay provides accommodation with seating area. The homestay features family rooms. At the homestay, every unit is fitted with a desk.

The homestay was simple and comfortable. It was an easy 5 to 6-minute walk from the park, which made it an easy choice to return to rest and relax at the homestay in between scheduled activities at Mulu. I prepared extensively for mosquitos, but the bedroom was very well screened, and there was nary a mosquito to disturb my sleep. Albert and his family were easily available for assistance. It was also very convenient to have the option to eat or not eat at the homestay. While the menu is not as extensive as the park cafe, each item was delicious and the portion sizes very generous. As a solo traveler, I chose to stay at this place, hoping that I would be able to meet other travelers and find people to enjoy my Mulu trips with. I did indeed get to meet and connect with a number of solo travelers who also stayed here, and I was able to sign up for guided tours like the kayaking and sunset cruise, which have a minimum requirement of 2-3 people and are less advertised than their cave and hiking tours (so it may be difficult to get a tour going during low season). I also got to chat and exchange stories with various other travelers. Staying here instead of the Marriott was one of the best decisions I'd made for this trip.

Basic but you will stay at the park a lot of the time you are in Mulu anyway. Anil is a great host and was super helpful. Also he will bring you to the park entrance and picks you up from there as you like. The view from the restaurant to the river is outstanding.

Great place to come for a jungle / caving experience. Only requires basic fitness and moderate mobility to visit most of the show features. More strenuous/ adventurous options also exist for those who are interested/ daring!

Caves are awesome and well maintained for tourists with out much disturbance for nature Always give priority to Wind and Clear water caves as this tour is depending on weather It’s a rain forest , overnight heavy rain may stop the tour for next day as tourists have to move by boat . keep a rain coat unless you like to get drenched. Be prepared to swim in clear water cave
