Sandalford Vineyard restaurant degustation menu with matched wines were exceptional. The wine tasting we did before the meal was exceptional with some unusual wines offered and which we thought was good value for money. A very experienced person served us who new his product and was happy to answer questions and helped us to choose a selection of wines that suited our tastes.

We stayed overnight on a Sunday night and according to their websites, many of the cafes and restaurants were either closed on a Monday or not open for breakfast. Even The Colony at Mandoon's website said they were not open on a Monday until 10am (but in fact they were open well before that). They don't answer their phones over the weekend, so you are totally relying on website information without knowing whether it has been updated. It would be worthwhile phoning the cafes the previous week to ensure they will be open on Monday morning as I cannot confirm or deny whether they were open or not.

Location is great to explore everything the Swan Valley has to offer. So many great food venues on site or just nearby. Room was cosy but not stuffy like a hotel room. The movie selection available free of charge is unlike anywhere else we have stayed (we usually have to rely on netflix from our phones but didn't have to this time). Parking was free and right outside our door. We only stayed one night but couldn't definitely have stayed a couple more.
I thought the rooms and the location of the hotel was beautiful. The staff were lovely and super helpful though out the whole booking and check-in process.
