I came to Costa Rica solo, unsure of what I was searching for, but I found something truly special at Selina, Manuel Antonio. Words honestly fall short, but I couldn’t leave without sharing the love.
What makes this place so magical? It’s the incredible staff, who feel like family, and the stunning setting, alive with the vibrant energy of nature. From the warm smiles of the cleaner, Alida, to the attentiveness of caretakers like Julio, and the delicious cocktails crafted by Ariel at the bar, every person here brings this place to life. Shoutout to Jenny and Kevin at reception, and Diego, the experience lead, who made me feel the real heartbeat of this place. They showed me the joy in life’s simple pleasures—like the thrill of spotting a sloth nestled in a tree, or watching the waves and stars dance by the beach. Selina’s caring staff made my experience in Costa Rica unforgettable. I left with a heart full of gratitude and cherished memories. Thank you, Selina family, for your special home.
Other great things? Actual hotel/hostel is beautiful, plenty of greenery, a jungle (now closed to public), 3 pools, rooftop co-working space, a good restaurant/bar, and one of the few dancefloors vibing on weekends! I was blessed to have a South African house music one night & dancehall next night. (Bar/resto closed afternoon low season). I picked this place for the inspiring yoga deck, providing other classes of all things, I enjoyed pole dance & Celeste's ecstatic dance. Thoughtful welcome drinks and common kitchen spaces to meet other people and travellers. Crowd ranged 20-40. The private room I had was nice, clean, comfortable with balcony &AC. Laundry with small fee. Bus stop right in front to the nearby beach/National park.

Manuel Antonio beach is awesome. We heard it was a busy place but it was quiet - especially the area in front of the hotel . It was busy further down but that meant we had a variety of restaurants to choose from. They were all within walking distance. We went on several tours and enjoyed seeing the dolphins. Also enjoyed the zip lining.

The park is amazing, definitely book your guide through the park website you will see so much more, make sure you tip and bring reusable water bottle. The beach at the end is beautiful, wear your bathing suit and flip-flops are fine for the weak with the guide.

This is a beach town with some good restaurants. National Park was okay - wouldn't plan the trip around it. We stayed at Parador and it was the best part of the trip. We liked Arenal area better but this is good for relaxing and beaches with family.

It seems like most hotels are situated on the long, winding, mountain road that leads to the park, so you really can't choose a poor hotel in regards to proximity to the park.
Lots of restaurant options maybe even too many

Manuel Antonio national park is in my opinion one of the best places in Costa Rica.
There are incredible things to see such us three kind of monkeys, deers (we saw 3), butterflies, sloths, cuatis, snakes, amazing jungle trees, beautiful beaches, viewpoints, and more.

Extremely expensive, thieves (on our first attempt to find the beach there was a couple on their honeymoon who just had all their possessions stolen and advised us to leave). With parking there seemed to be a lot of attempts to trick tourists into paying to park, access the beach, etc. that didn't appear legit.
We had hoped to just take a walk in the National Park but learned that you have to take a guided tour.
The sounds of howler monkeys boom during the night and early morning hours. They sound spooky but are harmless tree dwelling, leaf eaters. Unlike the Mafia monkeys who seem to have no fear of humans and the sole objective of stealing your stuff.
Location was great, right at the gate of Manuel Antonio National Park. The hotel could schedule your tours. Staff was excellent in every area! Loved the pool area. Had a wonderful massage in the spa for a good price. Breakfast was also a highlight every morning - everything you could want served to you from the buffet. Killer hamburger - big enough to share with 2 or 3! Easy walk to the beach. A great value, too. Favorite was nightly cocktails on the roof watching the sunset! Liked the adults only pool.
This stay was far beyond our expectations. It’s right on the mountain road that goes to Manuel Antonio national park and beach. Easy parking and check-in. A great bar, restaurant and perfect staff. They even have hiking routes in the forest that starts at the hotel!
The only downside for us was the quality of the room and bathroom. It wasn’t perfectly clean but it was a good value for the money anyway. I’m sure there are some better room options.
The beds were extremely comfortable, the room was very big and with two children was perfect. The hotel provided room clean once a day and we demanded for a kettle to prepare our youngest daughter'meals and they gave us. The staff was very kind, attentive amd full of envy to help. The location of the hotel.is beachfront (espadilla norte playa), in dron of the bus terminal and very close to.Manuel Antonio Park.
