Loved the ambiance and the pool. Staff were lovely and it was a lovely way to finish off our trip to Costa Rica. Breakfast was good and we did eat at the hotel and the dinners were nice. The sushi at lunchtime was great and we liked the beach nearby.

Amazing hotel, amazing room, amazing location. A superbly presented, clean, comfortable room set in the jungle. I was fortunate enough to have one of two rooms set in the far side of the hotel grounds, so was peacefully in quite a private part with just the Agouti's and lizards for company. The staff were friendly and the place is very well kept. Over the road from El Avion, there are bus stops almost straight outside the hotel, and shops and restaurants not far from it. It's a hilly place, so getting to from the town/beach/National Park on the very cheap, local bus is the easiest and least sweaty option.
Located at the entrance to the Manuel Antonio National Park, this hotel features an outdoor swimming pool and spa. Manuel Antonio Beach is just 2 minutes’ walk away.

It's right next to the National Park so very convenient. Also you can see birds from the roof top bar (including scarlet macaws and singing toucans!). The tour to the private waterfalls was also well worth it!

This is a little gem in Manuel Antonio. The view is absolutely beautiful (perfect to watch sunset), the restaurant serves the most delicious food and drinks, the rooms are cosy and the staff are truly wonderful and do everything to help you. Special shout out to Jeff, Lillian and Jorge! It’s a short walk from the beach as well as the supermarket, ATM and restaurants. We would definitely stay again.

Albeit overly touristy this is a must-see/must-do if it’s your first time in Costa Roca. The guides are excellent and do use their expertise. You will see wildlife you’d otherwise miss! Buy a normal ticket for your second day in the park and explore the untrodden paths on your own and soak up some sun on the beautiful Manuel Antonio beach within the premises of the park!

I didn't see as many wild lives as I did 20 years ago.
I didn't see as many wild lives as I did 20 years ago. But the beach is ideal for swimming.
The surrounding restaurants are pricy which can be more costly than restaurants in North America. Suggest to stay with the Tico restaurants.

The national park was lovely.
The national park was lovely. We had a car so getting around was fine, but not sure how easy it is if you don't have a car as it is quite hilly. We did the El Santuario Zipline canopy tour which would be fun for families.

Of course you can't give nature a bad review!
Of course you can't give nature a bad review! The park itself is stunning of course but we felt Manuel Antonio is ruined by tourism.
It was extremely busy on the narrow road leading towards the park, standing in a traffic jam is not my idea of a nice relaxing nature day.
The park had boardwalk everywhere so it makes it feel less authentic and there are also way more people in it then we saw in other parks in Costa Rica.
If I would advice anyone on their itinerary for costa Rica I would sayL skip Manuel Antonio, there are better places to go.

The park is great, no complains there.
The park is great, no complains there. I’d recommend to get a tour so you can enjoy it to the fullest. Be very cautious with the scams on regards of parking and fake tour guides, do your research , also the commerce people outside the gates are very pushy, be prepared to say no.

Swimming pool was amazing, kids loved it - great views and the best place to see lots of monkeys:) We saw a lot of animals: rockoons, cappuccino monkeys, squirrel monkeys, iguanas, sloths, hummingbirds, lizards. On the beach we saw toucans :)
Our experience in Manuel Antonio national park was very disappointing (looked overhyped) and de la Selva hotel saved us, it was amazing to see soo many animals at hotel !
We loved the seaview from the room! The bungalow was also really big. You can just walk to the beach and the hotel restaurant offers breakfast at the beach. You can see monkeys jumping around, birds, iguanas... Really beautiful place!
It's at walking distance from Manuel Antonio national park. At the reception they also helped us book a tour to the Rainmaker forest, really recommend!
Oh what a wonderful place! My sister and I enjoyed our short stay, perfectly located close to the bus stops towards the beaches but also to Quepos, Hotel Villas Nicolas was a tranquil and beautiful way to end our stay in Costa Rica. The staff was friendly and super helpful, the breakfast was delicious, the room was clean and comfortable and the views were stunning.
Wow what an amazing place, right on the beach with monkeys and birds coming to drink and splash in the swimming pool. We also saw a sloth in a tree right next to the back gate. Staff are really friendly and helpful. Both my daughters didn't want to leave. We saw more wildlife in the hotel than in the national park!
