Rockland Harbor Hotel, hotel in Rockland (Maine)

Rockland Harbor Hotel is located 11.8 metres from the Rockland Ferry Services and is in the centre of Rockland. Farnsworth Museum is only 482.8 metres away.

All the rooms at The Rockland Harbor Hotel face the Bay, the view from my room was beautiful both in the evening with the setting sun behind the hotel and in the morning when i watched the sunrise over the water, you can also see the Rockland Breakwater Lighthouse. They had a great range for breakfast which was all delicious.

Rockland is a beautiful little town, The Rock Harbor Pub and Brewery is a good place to stop for some great food. My visit was mainly for The Maine Lighthouse Museum which i was not disappointed in, i spent over 3 hours in there, so if you are as interested in Lighthouses and their histories like i am then it is the Lighthouse version of Disneyland. I will return to Rockland as i unfortunately missed out on visiting The Matinicus Rock Light. It also has many restaurants.

Rockland area was great - lots to do but best to go before oct 1st as lots of shops and attractions and restaurants are closed for the season or open for reduced hours after that - if you go for a long weekend after that choose late week rather than early as many shops and restaurants close on Monday and Tuesday. Many downtown streets are 1-way including Main St and most side streets - get your bearings during daylight hours and pick up a town map in the lobby of your hotel

Rockland is a great spot as a base to see other mid coast areas. Prices are modest and there's a nice harbor, nice downtown, and a few museums to visit. We enjoyed many of the local restaurants such as Claws, Archer's on the Pier, Home Kitchen Cafe, and Landings Seafood. In South Thomaston McLoon's Lobster Shack is a great stop. There are a couple of nearby lighthouses to see such as Owls Head and Rockland Breakwater Light.

A lovely town with very friendly people.

A lovely town with very friendly people. Most things are within easy walking distance - eateries, galleries, museums, and shopping are on the block near the waterfront. It's a short drive to the lighthouses. Due to delays in my flights, I really only was able to eat and shop one full day in the area. I enjoyed Ruckus Donuts and coffee and went to Rustica for dinner. The Dowling Walsh Gallery is a lovely visit. A visit to the Owl Head and Breakwater Lighthouses are musts! I drove to Camden as well and enjoyed a few hours on the Schooner Appledore.

Rockland has good restaurants and very good art galleries.

Rockland has good restaurants and very good art galleries. They also have the Farnsworth Art Museum, which was very nice. The Breakwater Light House is a great walk, on a very long breakwater. It's also close to other destinations, such as Camden and Boothbay Harbor.

The location is close to the ocean and we used our balcony to see it every day. The rooftop seating gives a great view and place to rest for all guests. Lots of free parking around. The staff were lovely and made sure we enjoyed our stay. Love the fact the hotel belongs to a family with a great back story too. The staff spoke warmly of the owners which is always good to hear.

The staff. Each and every one. Rachel is the only one whose name I finally asked—she was always so nice and super helpful. Everyone else was, too. We weren’t in Rockland for a happy reason so it was really, really nice to feel taken care of when we came back to hotel.

Attended the Lobster Festival in Rockland and this hotel location couldn't have been better! Just walk across the parking lot and you're on the festival grounds. Also very close to main street/downtown area. Free parking was an added perk.
