A summer stay provides access to beaches located perhaps 10 minutes away.

Me and my friends used Litochoro as a base for climb of Mytikas peak in mount Olympus. It is touristy place with many restaurants, shops and places where to stay. It becomes quite hot during the summer but i recommend it for a short vacation.

It was a pleasant surprise as we only planned to stay for a layover but immediately fell in love with the city and the area as a whole so we extended for one night to enjoy. It still was not enough as there turned out being quite a lot to do. Amazing restaurants as well.

Beautiful little town.
Beautiful little town. They had good restaurants and shops close to each other. We came hear mainly to do the Mount Olympus hike. If you are planning a visit for this I would recommend that you get a taxi from the town to Prionia then make your way to Mytikas peak. If you start early and take breaks you can complete this in one day. I would avoid staying at the refuge as it was overpriced and the rooms were very uncomfortable. Instead I would get a taxi back down from Prionia which costs 30 euro one way and then stay another night in Litochoro town. Avoid the Gorge as it was long and he path is terrible.

One of my favorite spots in Greece.
One of my favorite spots in Greece. A beatiful little mountain town at the slopes of the Olympus mountain. Great small hotels and restaurants and endless trails to walk in the Olympus Mountain within a walking distanace.

Litochoro is a gateway to Olympus, so it does not need recommendations. The apartment we rented was a bit farther from the mountain, close to the sea. So we had the advantage of sea beach, plenty of restaurants and shops.

Very cute family owned little hotel at the best location in Litochoro. Amazing views to mount Olympus. Staff were extremely pleasant and helpful and always with a smile. We really liked the breakfast . We had a very late check in , and the hotel allowed it - which was a big bonus. Thank you!

Our best accommodation in Greece by far🙂 Owner George was just excellent host explaining neighborhood, arranging taxi when needed, air conditioning was switched on when we arrived etc. etc. It was a pleasure to have opportunity for such a nice accommodation! Thanks for having us!
The host was very helpful prior to the arrival and during our stay. Great value for the price. Located in beautiful Litochoro. Short distance from the center of the village. Had breakfast on the porch. Good sized rooms and comfortable living room.
