Quality Inn & Suites Yellowknife, hotel in Yellowknife

This hotel is connected to Centre Square Mall. Each spacious accommodation includes free WiFi. Each room at Quality Inn & Suites Yellowknife features warm colors and modern décor.

The hotel is in a good location, adjoining a mall where there are some shops. Right next door is another side of the mall with a Tim Horton's, more shops and the Visitor Centre (where you can get information on local attractions, collect a free certificate and pin, watch a short movie on the Aurora and look at some local artist's work). Very close to a big pharmacy, an independent supermarket, book store, restaurants. It is walking distance to the Prince of Wales museum. The visitor centre can give you a map and directions if needed. Tours like the one for Aurora Village collect and drop you off at the hotel. There is a free shuttle bus to and from the airport. The free breakfast was good, with breads and condiments, cereals, fruit, pancakes, eggs, ham, juices, hot drinks. Our room was as pictured on booking.com, with a very comfy King bed and fold out sofa bed. Spacious room, clean, carpet a bit worn but no worries, we were coming in and out from doing outdoor activities, so wouldn't have wanted to be trampling on plush, new carpeting! The staff are hard-working and down to earth people, friendly and welcoming. There appears to be a service run through the hotel that assists homeless people with meals and transport to appointments. I haven't seen this anywhere else, but think it's a great idea and more hotels should be doing it.

Little holiday home, hotel in Yellowknife

Featuring mountain views, Little holiday home provides accommodation with a garden and a patio, around 1.2 km from Prince of Wales Northern Heritage Centre.

Clean environment and excellent facilities within the building. Gaining access with the keypad number sent by the owner made access to the building relatively easy despite several hours flight delay.

The B&B was fantastic. The auroras were absolutely stunning. There is plenty to do and see to keep you busy. From the museum, trails, historical sights and eateries. I would love to go back during the summer months. Just to experience all the seasonal things the summer season would have to offer.

There was so much to do!

There was so much to do! The Northern Lights were out several nights and what an amazing experience! All the tour guides were friendly and helpful! During the winter, there are so many daytime activities as well - using their little bit of daylight to the fullest advantage! We went snowmobiling and could have done more, went dog sledding and held puppies, walked around town a little. Every person we met was friendly !

We signed up for the Northern Lights bus tour 3 days in a row. The first night was amazing with lots of Northern Lights activities. We even witnessed the dancing Aurora for more than 20 minutes near the end of our tour. Really an once in a lifetime experience! The 2nd night, no activity. Just saw the night sky with lots of stars. The 3rd night, there was a minimum activity. In conclusion, If we did not witnessed the dancing Aurora, this trip would not be worth it, in my opinion!!!

The solo purpose for our trip was to see the norther light.

The solo purpose for our trip was to see the norther light. Yellowknife is the best place to see that, it said if you stay at least three nights, there is 98% chance to see it. It was learned that seeing northern light is tricky. Even though it's clear sky, it's no guarantee to see it. Naked eyes can NOT see it most of time. If moon is too bright, in light polluted areas, or sky is too cloudy then the possibility will be low. It's recommended to check the weather and aurora forecast then pick one best night to join a four hours northern light tour. The bus will take you to areas away from the city at night. Besides Northern light, it's good to go to the Visitor center at downtown for information. Prince of Wales Northern Heritage Center is also a good place to spend a couple hours with family.

Easy to walk from Old Town to New Town (30 min) There are city buses but I have no experience Many lakes to walk on, Ice cave to visit. Prince of Wales Regional Museum worth a trip - much to see Plan for Snowking Festival in March Avoid Northern Light Tour company Surprisingly, the grocery stores offered the same prices as Vancouver, and the restaurants weren't much more expensive than home.

    Yellowknife is a remote location.

Yellowknife is a remote location. So you expect expensive food and accommodation, but we were disappointed to find lack-luster service. If you are looking for reasonably nice accommodations, expect to pay north of $300per night. Booking anything cheaper will disappoint. The scenery, of course is one of a kind amazing! Just don't get your expectations too high when it comes to service.

The host was so kind and accommodating. The breakfast was absolutely amazing, kept us full for most of the day! The location is also great with easy access to all of Yellowknife, but also right on the lake. Our host let us use the canoe free of charge, paddling around the lake from the manor was the highlight of our trip! 10/10 would reccomend Mabuhay lakeside manor to anyone. We will come again.

They are super easy going with early check-in! We checked in early both times and they just gave us the room - very awesome because some hotels make you wait even if the room is ready. Also, if you take a white “City Cab” from the airport, don’t pay for it because they will give you a voucher to pay for it once you arrive AND when you go back to the airport. Highly recommend!

Location is great. The staff warmed the guest house before we checked in & feeling warmth once we entered. This was very important when you fly from 5°C Calgary to -18°C YK. Silent in snowy nights & only took ~ 10 mins to drive to downtown. Big bed rooms, washing utilities, cooking utensils, seasoning for cooking, bedding, big TV for my kids are in reasonable conditions.
