Home owners put a lot of work into maintaining this place, if you need help just ask. The room ambience is really cozy, bed was the fluffiest ever, I love that the pets are always welcoming guests back. Breakfast available all day :) Aurora can sometimes be seen from this place also, just keep a look out.

We signed up for the Northern Lights bus tour 3 days in a row.
The first night was amazing with lots of Northern Lights activities. We even witnessed the dancing Aurora for more than 20 minutes near the end of our tour. Really an once in a lifetime experience! The 2nd night, no activity. Just saw the night sky with lots of stars. The 3rd night, there was a minimum activity. In conclusion, If we did not witnessed the dancing Aurora, this trip would not be worth it, in my opinion!!!

The solo purpose for our trip was to see the norther light.
The solo purpose for our trip was to see the norther light. Yellowknife is the best place to see that, it said if you stay at least three nights, there is 98% chance to see it. It was learned that seeing northern light is tricky. Even though it's clear sky, it's no guarantee to see it. Naked eyes can NOT see it most of time. If moon is too bright, in light polluted areas, or sky is too cloudy then the possibility will be low. It's recommended to check the weather and aurora forecast then pick one best night to join a four hours northern light tour. The bus will take you to areas away from the city at night. Besides Northern light, it's good to go to the Visitor center at downtown for information. Prince of Wales Northern Heritage Center is also a good place to spend a couple hours with family.

Avoid Northern Light Tour company
Surprisingly, the grocery stores offered the same prices as Vancouver, and the restaurants weren't much more expensive than home.

Yellowknife is a remote location.
Yellowknife is a remote location. So you expect expensive food and accommodation, but we were disappointed to find lack-luster service. If you are looking for reasonably nice accommodations, expect to pay north of $300per night. Booking anything cheaper will disappoint.
The scenery, of course is one of a kind amazing! Just don't get your expectations too high when it comes to service.

We stayed at Yellowknife B&B and used Aurora Village for our tours. We highly recommend both of these to anyone traveling here!!
We cooked our meals (saved a ton of time and money) and had 1 stop shopping with our tours. This was a trip of a lifetime and we enjoyed every minute!

See reviews by guests who stayed at hotels in Yellowknife
Stayed there for the second time after having stayed at other places in Yellowknife as well. In my opinion, the best value for the money. Had a fairly big room with a king bed and everything worked as expected.
The location was really close to old town and walking distance to many of the sights around Yellowknife. We really enjoyed being able to see the Northern Lights from our window across the lake.
