Superfriendly and helpful staff. Excellent communication prior to arrival. These were the highlights. Overall, a very nice hotel. Well designed and maintained. I was concerned the room would be noisy - it was facing a huge and busy roundabout - but the windows turned out to be 100% soundproof.

It is a nice compact city with great variety of Spanish and Basque cuisine on offer at good prices As a destination city it has some nice old but not ancient buildings, lovely beach with good viewpoints. Limited indoor activities and interest for wet weather. The clean river and ornate bridges are nice splitting the old and new parts to some degree. Good for browsers and shoppers. Book early for hotels and fine dining.

A beautiful city.
A beautiful city. Terrific food everywhere, a beach for everyone from toddler to surfer, and the mountains nearby are covered in bike trails. The highlight of our trip was a two day bike ride from the apartment to the Plazaola Via Verde bike trail down to Lekunberri and back. Indoors we ate in some of the best restaurants we've ever visited, and outdoors we spent time in the mountains and on the beach. It does rain a lot, but the location, activities, and the beauty of the forests more than made up for the rain.

Beautiful city, with a great old town.
Beautiful city, with a great old town.
Lovely beaches and stunning scenery all around. Lots of shopping for those who like that. Good transport system. San Sebastian seems very safe, and we walked around the city a lot both during the day and night and never felt uncomfortable.
The food is great. We basically lived on Pinxtos for the whole of our stay, as these are delicious and very varied, and are available in literally every bar (especially in the old town)

Beautiful place with excellent restaurants and so clean.
Beautiful place with excellent restaurants and so clean. If you surf the beach had a lovely bay and we checked out Bar Nesta, renown for the Tortilla but only one prepared for lunch and another for dinner.. We queued at 18:40 to get our name on the dining list for a 1/16th portion then returned to the restaurant at 19:45 for our place (at the bar for us). The steak was to die for!
Everywhere we ate was very reasonably priced and good.

Suitable for all age groups.
Suitable for all age groups. If one suffers from limited mobility, there are benches virtually everywhere (every 50 - 100 meters). The food is second to none. If you feel like surfing, this is the place for you.

Beautiful friendly place- even in the rain.
Beautiful friendly place- even in the rain. Locals were lovely and helpful. Fabulous shopping. Extremely clean everywhere It’s a walking city so take comfy shoes and a swimsuit- great beaches to boot
Large modern hotel, easy to find by car and park. Room was quiet well soundproofed from the traffic, although the morning of my stay there was a noisy vehicle repairing drains on the far side of the square. Nice to have a full bath.
Lovely walk along the promenade into the centre. In retrospect it seems the nicer restaurants are in the area of the hotel, whereas those in the centre and old town are all bodegas or tavernas purveying tapas and pintxos.
Brand new apartments, really clean , not that big but enough space for 2 people. The location is great. Only one thing was parking, that is not that easy in the area and private parking are a bit expensive in Spain (nothing to do with the hotel though).Special thanks to the girl at the reception that was really helpful on giving advices and some nice spots to visit at the area !!
We loved staying at hotel Arbaso; it made our trip even better and the location was perfect for all the eating we wanted to do in the Old Town. The staff were amazing; super friendly and helped when we had questions. Restaurant Narru was also lovely; we had some snacks when we first arrived and our waitress made recommendations to us.
A good stopover hotel for one night offering free off-road private parking and a walkable location to the centre, old town and beaches of San Sebastian.
Reception staff were kind enough to change our room from the ground floor next to a busy reception area with lots of guest traffic to one on the first floor.
The location is quite good, a few minutes walk to the old town and around 10-15 mins to two of the beaches. The staff is extremely friendly! The rooms are small but are provided with all the necessary facilities, whereas this is the very first hotel so far that offers comfortable pillows!!
