The location near the sea was fabulous and the gastronomic culture is great.
Our stay was one day too long as in the winter, we went in December, the bus tour didn't operate during our stay. However, I would love to go back and use the bus tour to expand our ability to visit more of the town. The beaches look fabulous for a stay during the warmer months. We were disappointed to miss out on a concert during our stay as the venue in the old town was fully booked. Next time we will check the programmes and book ahead.

We visited San Sebastián in winter and although it was busy, it was easy to get around and do things and the weather was clear. Pintxos culture in the old city is really unique and special - love the social element and the seafood and meats are fresh and delicious! Had some great desserts too at a bar in the old city, Itxaropena 1910. Breakfast at Old Town Coffee was delicious! Local people are friendly, and we never had any problem not speaking Basque/Spanish. The vibe of the city is really upbeat. Lovely to walk everywhere and the grid layout makes it hard to get lost. Funicular was only disappointment - long wait to get up to Mt Igueldo, went on one ride in the amusement park before everything shut down at 2pm and then had another long wait to come down again. Wish we had stayed longer than 2 days - there is so much to see and we only got to half of it!

San Sebastián is a lively city with beautiful views and plenty of energy. It's perfect for walking around, with many scenic spots and a variety of restaurants to try. If I could do anything differently, I’d avoid bringing a car. Parking was a nightmare— we spent a lot of time searching for spaces and ended up paying for spots in underground parking garages. But overall, I absolutely loved the city, and it exceeded my expectations.

I loved everything. I would love to go back again.
I loved everything. I would love to go back again. I would say it´s a bit more expensive then other places I have visited in Spain. Top notch was to visit the Basque Culinary Center - school for persons in the Gastronomy Industry. Loved the Funicular with the view- over Donostia - amazing. Great food - Pintxos to die for. We took a day trip to France on the Metro from Amara station - super easy. We went to Hendeye in France-took the small boat back to Spain to Hondarribia - such a pretty lovely small town. Boat back to France. So close but so different.

Room was spacious and very clean/modern. Hotel is not central but only 15-20 min walk into city centre. Hotel staff are very helpful. Very pet friendly (dog got its own bed and bowls) and absolutely great value for money. Can reserve parking as well. Was a stop over driving to south of Spain and it was great!
Clean rooms with everything you need. Comfy bed & really relaxing being on the balcony after a day out.
Although not in the old town we enjoyed walking through the gardens & along the beach from the hotel to the old town, got to see more of the area. Nice bakery on the corner too & pinchos from hotel bar.
A great hotel location with a nice view from our room on the beautiful bay of San Sebastian. Walking distance to the old town with all its bars and restaurants, and of course the beach in front of the hotel.
An underground car park at approx €20/night.
The breakfast buffet is not extensive but is tasty.
