The guesthouse is in a very scenic spot, and is lovely inside. The kitchen was huge, and there was plenty of space to eat. There are 2 bathrooms on the first floor. As they are shared between about 6 rooms there was always a bit of a wait but you expect that with a shared bathroom.
We were able to go horse riding right next door the next morning, which was a convenient bonus.

I found this accommodation at the last minute on our trip to Iceland. We were caught in very bad weather and it was impossible to camp with our van. Don't look for unnecessary luxury here, but a very efficiently furnished, clean and equipped wooden house with everything you need for an overnight stay. We were given a warm welcome on arrival, minutes after our booking. The very pleasant country atmosphere is enhanced by the two friendly dogs . It's a great choice at a reasonable price. I can definitely recommend this accommodation.

The peaceful environment, the view of the mountains and the hot bathtub.
The cottage has a big kitchen (for a cottage) and there’s even space for “living room”.
The books and puzzle were a nice add on.
Comfortable bed.

We stayed not in Hofstadir. And that is the problem.
We stayed not in Hofstadir. And that is the problem. They have a dependance building like 750 mtr away from Hofstadir. Its like staying with the family with grandma overseeing your actions (really, she does).
So be sure to book Hofstadir and not farmhouse. The family is very friendly and helpfull and the Hofstadir (not farmhouse) looks very nice with view over the fjord..
