Whitstable is a stunning seaside resort.

Whitstable is a stunning seaside resort. Lively harbour and miles of shingle beach with breakwater groins. The centre is full of independent little shops, bars and restaurants. Its like a step back in time before big retail chains dominated our High Street. Even has butcher shops and greengrocers - unheard of nowadays ! The choice and standard of food here is outstanding. So many great and varied places to eat and it still has a lot of pubs to choose from. Best time here is sunset where people gather on the shores to watch stunning sunsets and eat fish and chips and buy drinks from the little pop up bars. Heaven.

The Breakfasts at the hotel were excellent the best part of our stay. We stayed 5 days and I tried nearly everything on the menu and I can recommend them all. The hotel is old and needs a lot of renovation and money spent on it. It is expensive for a 3-star hotel prices they charge are more like 5-star prices, but there are very few hotels in the town so they can charge more or less anything. Should have a fridge in the rooms and for the price we paid should be a larger room with sofa. Howling wind coming through the windows if the direction is right. Lots of stairs and corridors to negotiate so beware if you have walking problems. Great views of the sea and shoreline. Also good walks along the front with the dog. I paid £20 per night for the dog which I thought was rather excessive, £10 would have been a fairer price.

It was a lovely, peaceful little town with fantastic shops, including independent ones and 3 or 4 small supermarkets. Lovely beachfront walks, history and close to Canterbury and other coastal resorts like Herne bay and Margate. We self catered and had fish and chips at the Neptune pub on the beach. Bit windy but great setting to watch the sunset. GARAGE was lovely cafe. Lot of places dog friendly too.

A woderful town with friendly people and a mix of facilities. The pub food is as good and sometimes better than a restaurant. The speciality of seafood is well catered for in the town. The architecture and nature of this part of England make a visit a treat the harbour markets were a delight but not as cheap as Yorkshire. The setting is stunning. boat trips available. The historic castle is a visual feast and tours are available.

Whitstable itself is not over touristy.

Whitstable itself is not over touristy. Nice bars and restaurant's , many specialising in seafood and shellfish. The beach is pebbly , and the sea shallow for a fair way out. Easy access to herne bay, margate and ramsgate by car or train.

A lively place popular with families. Lots of amenities.

A lively place popular with families. Lots of amenities. Not far from London and other Kent attractions. Beach is easily accessible with an easy walk along it's length. There are lots of places to eat along the high street as well as places to order or buy food if in self catering.

The location is excellent. Tankerton Beach is just in front of the Hotel, and it is within walking distance to the major tourist attractions in Whitstable. Room very comfy and I have a good sleep. Staff is friendly and helpful. More importantly, it is a true dog friendly hotel. They have prepared some dog treats for my dog in the room. Even the restaurant of the hotel is dog friendly, we can dine with my dog inside the restaurant!

Great location less than 5 min to beach and only 10 into Whitstable high street for shops cafes etc. Light and airy property with beautiful furnishings. Everything you need is here even toiletries etc We ate at Birdies, No 1 and both were lovely. We’d also recommend Thirst Love cafe for breakfast - very close, dog friendly and good value food, shakes and smoothies.
