What an interesting stay!
The hotel is one of a very small number in the UK which can truthfully be described as excellent. Proper service, stunning building, a treat to stay there. Our stay however was particularly interesting!
It was the weekend of the early December storms and around 6pm the power went out. The perfectly trained staff went to work. We spent a marvellous evening in the house illuminated solely by candlelit. The bar remained open, an excellent buffet was provided and all was silent other than the storm!
The manager did exactly what his job describes and managed, perfectly.
The next day we awoke to a silent hotel and went on our way with an agreement to return in more traditional circumstances. Couldn’t ask for more. Well done e everyone. You’re in a diminishing league of your own - you should be proud.

I'm biased at Stratford upon Avon is one of my favourite places. There is plenty to do, especially if you love Shakespeare. The town is very pretty with some lovely walks. The choice of restaurants is amazing too.

I loved the authentic period feel of the hotel. The walls and floors are sloping and uneven as you’d expect of a Tudor style building-to me it just added to the thrill of staying in Stratford upon Avon! It truly did put a smile on my face to walk the wonky corridors! Completely charming.
I had no problem getting a carpark within the hotel’s own carpark, which other reviews had led me to be problematic, so I was very happy about that.
The location was excellent for sightseeing and also had many great options for restaurants close by.
We booked a super deluxe room in the coach house and it was amaizing. The bed was king size and so comfortable and the character of the room was lovely. The staff were exeptional especially Natalie on bookings, reception and restaurant staff. The hotel was clean and nicely presented and is ideal for walking into Stratford upon Avon Town. We also used the spa facilities which were lovely.
Lovely location and hotel. Very friendly staff both on arrival and at breakfast. Very clean and spacious room with everything you needed. Five minutes into the centre of Stratford upon avon. All round great hotel and will be back.
Excellent staff who sorted us out when I found I'd booked two nights instead of three. Very helpful and always with a smile on their face. We now rate the Indigo as our hotel to use in Stratford upon Avon
