Once again, another first class stay at the Fairmont - from first arriving and initial welcome until we were leaving, all staff very genuine and friendly. Had dinner in the Squire restaurant - cracking choice and food/wine excellent. Room lovely and warm plus complete relaxing experience as always, helped by a couple of tasty malt whisky's. Will be back and thank you as always.

All the shop owners/helpers were extremely friendly and as I was traveling alone, it was a welcoming experience. I bought a nice purse/backpack at a shop that specializes in their original Scottish tweeds. I spent an hour in that shop just visiting with the shop worker.
I also loved my taxi driver, Ronnie, I believe. He felt like a good friend.
The staff at the Old Course were incredibly friendly and helpful. I was quite intimidated just being there and they helped me feel more comfortable. My caddie, Allan was awesome!! He brought his Scottish sense of humor to the course, and if I am able to return, I would specifically ask for him.

A lovely time had in St Andrews for my birthday and a trip down memory lane as used to go there on holiday when children. We stayed at the Ardgowan Hotel. Many thanks to Jana for accommodating our requests for a quiet room. A lovely central, clean, fresh and friendly hotel. Great choices for breakfast. Very close to beach and centre of town, everything you could want in walking distance, park up (free)and go! Excellent location. Thanks to all the friendly ladies who work in the hotel in housekeeping and reception. So nice of them to take the time to have a wee blether in the passing. Will definitely be back. X

This was our third trip to St. Andrews and it was wonderful! So many nice restaurants, things to see, few of the nearby towns that we visited are really very charming ( Crail, Ansthruters) but St. Andrews in itself is a little gem with the ruins of a 14th century Cathedral on the beach, the Castle and the vibe of the town with all the university students. It is just fantastic! It is definitely worth a visit .. or two. Not even talking about the world well known golf course where you can practice even if this is your first time. So , I would definitely recommend that you book a visit! I am sure that you'll enjoy it very much! And if you have a child attending the University, it even gets better!

It was quite difficult understanding the traffic flow in the city. There were quite a few bottlenecks. Not the easiest place to drive into or out of. The signage needs to be reviewed as soon as possible.
It also would be better not to go in Freshers week for the students of the University.

Self contained flat so no breakfast, beautiful location and view off bowling green but a few problems had to clean marble surfaces as had not been done sticky marks on most surfaces !! I had to clean before relaxing and sink in en-suite doesn’t drain so had to use bathroom sink!! After paying £250 a night I could have stayed at the Ild Course Hotel and use the spa!!
Overall the hotel is looking very dated and tired. The breakfast choice was very poor. The speed of service was very slow when people are looking for a coffee prior to teeing off.
Beds were comfy, room was warm. Complimentary toiletries in the bathroom were generous and great quality. Hotel was clean throughout. Very good location.
