Prestwick is a good base for exploring the Ayrshire coast and surrounding countryside. Plenty of interesting places to visit in the area.
We visited Culzean Castle and Dumfries House both within a half an hour drive. You can also get the train to Glasgow from Prestwick.
There's a great selection of local independent shops and bars and restaurants on the High Street.

Prestwick is a beautiful little place.
Prestwick is a beautiful little place. The main street is full of life, lots of nice shops, good choice of eating places, love the vine and the lido also the wee cafe that does senior citizen lunch, all home cooked, delicious served by friendly staff. It's a wonderful place for walking,I love it, the prom and the dunes. Don't change anything about it apart from cleaning the beach.
