I had an accident and fell in the bathroom it was simply that not faulty equipment or anything other than a simple slip and fall I managed to hit my shin shoulder and other limbs for stop it was 6:00 a.m. on Christmas morning and the staff on reception was exceptionally helpful she was a lovely lady who helped get me an ice pack and made me a cup of tea to help get the swelling down on my leg. I failed to get her name but wanted to thank her for her kind and thoughtful treatment after my accident.

Very nice host, lovely and large english breakfast !
I was visiting Gloucester for a business meeting. The road signs are well placed and clear with the infra road structure easy to navigate. The city centre was disappointing, but the quays shopping centre was excellent. The surrounding villages and towns are most enjoyable and a pleasure to visit.

The Cathedral is lovely, interesting historically and also of interest to Harry Potter fans as some of the films used it as a location. Very nice cafe for lunch.
The docks are nice. We had a very good tea on a barge.

We had a lovely weekend in Gloucester.
We had a lovely weekend in Gloucester. My absolute favourite was the Gloucester Cathedral. The historical atmosphere around the Cathedral is stunning. The staff was very kind and helpful. If somebody is a Harry Potter fan like me, discovering a movie scene is an extra bonus. The walk around the city centre, shopping area is nice. My daughter really enjoyed looking around in some local shops like Cauldron Creations, close to the Cathedral. My kids liked the Legal Exhibition so much. We stayed for two nights in the Holiday Inn Hotel, where we enjoyed the swimming pool and the gym. I really recommend this city for a short break.

Gloucester is a beautiful and interesting place to visit.
Gloucester is a beautiful and interesting place to visit. Abundant history, welcoming cathedral and fascinating dock area with the waterways museum, so worth spending time with its videos of true Gloucester characters - also a great boat trip available- even likely to see a pirate!
Lovely wide pedestrian areas and attractive alleys. Fabulous towers of flowers brightening the streets; atmospheric flags decorating everywhere and interesting sculptures. A wide variety of places to eat, some very atmospheric. Car parking charges really reasonable.
BEST OF ALL... people are generally pretty kind everywhere, but I have never been to a place where so many people kept going the extra mile to assist - so outstanding that we kept commenting on it - not just tradespeople or people who had anything to gain, but ordinary folk of all ages, going out of their way to guide and assist !!!!

Gloucester offers a mix of history and modern life.
Gloucester offers a mix of history and modern life. Its stunning cathedral is a must-see, showcasing impressive architecture. The city's industrial past is reflected in the restored Gloucester Docks, now a vibrant hub of shops and restaurants. While the city center has its charm, it might feel less polished compared to nearby Cheltenham. Ideal for history buffs and those seeking a quieter pace.

Lovely spacious room and en-suite with everything I needed. Replenishments were readily available if needed.
The hotel was so interesting with lots of information on the walls about Gloucester - wish I'd had more time to read them all! All rooms were named after 'Edwards' which was a nice touch and there was plenty of information too on the different Edwards.
Very handily placed for Gloucester and easy to find.
A good location for visiting Gloucester/Cheltenham etc. and close to the M5 but not close enough to be disturbed by traffic noise. A good amount of pubs and restaurants in the area. The room was standard HIE meaning it has everything you need for a good night's sleep. Breakfast included in the price, caters for all tastes. I would definitely use this hotel again when travelling to/from the West Country.
First of all, we need to understand that the building is actually really old. Everything in the building takes you back 100 years: the walls, the floor, the windows. The building is a piece of art. Really nice and full of character. The staff were very helpful and tried to attend all our requests. Breakfast was also very good and the hotel is right in the center of Gloucester.
Our room was dated but very clean, the common parts not so clean but staff reacted quickly to spillages etc. The main plus for this Hotel is that the staff were very helpful and accomodating. There was a great atomosphere in the bar after the Gloucester/Bath Rugby match. I would recommend for a one or two night stay. The Hotel is only a few minutes walk from the Quays.
