APA hotels don't miss. Their proposition is simple and they do it well, even elevating it a bit. Property and facilities are kept clean and tidy. The room was immaculate, with lots of amenities. Two pillows, one regular and one ergonomic, was a really nice offer. Yukata provided in the room as well to visit the restaurant and large bath. The large bath was very spacious and well kept. The restaurant was a very good surprise, as I rarely dine in hotel restaurants, but the service was impeccable and the food delicious, with great recommendations from staff and selection of local Sendai cuisine.
Very easy check in and check out procedures. Electronic check in has an English option and is intuitive, but the staff on site spoke English as well and guided me through the procedure, which was very nice and seamless.
Great location, only 15 min walk from Sendai station for trains and buses, konbini next door 24h, lots of shops, cafes and restaurants in the area.

Everything was amazing and the staff were all incredible. The theme and live flautist and pianist were also incredible. It was truly a great place to stay. Nearby is a convenient store, so that was great too for snacks.

We enjoyed our stay in Sendai. Hotel Monterey was very close to the station. It has an old world Praque theme which is a little outdated but very comfortable. We booked a corner room which was large, had writing desk, coffee and tea facilities and a large bath. The single room for our son however was a little spartan. The hotel breakfast was great and kicked started our day of exploring. We really enjoyed the onsen spa every evening. The temple was a wonderful experience and we enjoyed the day we spent at Matsushima Bay. Local train journey was easy and cheap as was the boat trip around the bay for 800 yen for an hour cruise. Exploring the island close by was delightful. Overall a very good few days in this area of Japan.

It's a wonderful city to visit and I wish we had spent more than the three days to explore its many neighborhoods and shopping districts. It seems like there is a great deal going in Sendai, while remaining a clean and orderly metro area. You can't beat the food options or its proximity to one-in-a-lifetime views like Matsushima or Geibeiki Gorge.

I think Sendai has many interesting unique features but if you push a little further I personally prefer Sapporo. Sendai is bigger, more modern but also slightly slightly less accommodating in some ways. I ran into more language barriers in some parts of the city then anywhere else in my travels in Japan. But if you want a city not as large as Tokyo for excellent shopping and adventure Sendai is still near the top of the list.

Beautiful city, plenty of trees and shade and I loved the arcade shopping streets. There's lots of open spaces and places to grab a seat, and all of the food I had was excellent.
I visited Aoba Castle ruins and really enjoyed the walk, and there's excellent views of the city. I think Sendai is a great choice for a short break.

Great town.
Great town. Nice size - big but but very big, small but only incomprison to very big places - ie more laid back than Tokyo and Osaka etc but more going on than a (picturesque) paddy field. Try the Gyu-tongue set ( or go home really, it is the local thing. very nice)

OfHotel in Sendai is in a great location, close to the station, and has a stylish, modern vibe. The rooms are small but super cozy, and the cool design really stands out. Breakfast was tasty, the amenity areas with unique artwork were a nice touch, and it was all extremely good value for the price.
Hotel Keihan Sendai is a well-designed modern Japanese hotel with efficient and comfortable rooms. Everything works, it's clean and it's within walking distance of the train station. What more could you ask for? I highly recommend this hotel.
Loved all the restaurants just outside the hotel door. Great location right above Sendai station. So central to everything- shopping centre, transport (trains, buses, taxi's ), food. Breakfast was fine.
Good value.
The hotel is very close to the train station, which is perfect to travel around Sendai (Yamadera, Zao, Matsushima...).
The temperature in the room was good (in December).
