From the minute we arrived to the minute we left the staff were all pleasant, helpful and informative, especially Joao. The room was extremely clean and had everything we needed. The breakfast was superb, lots of choice and good ingredients. We have stayed in 5 star hotels that do not come anywhere near our experience when staying at Don Rodrigues. A big shout out to all the staff, you're doing a great job
Thank you

We loved the location, great restaurants nearby. Our host was very helpful on arrival and questions we had. The roof top was lovely. The bed was very comfortable (except the sheet didn't fit the bed). The shutters made the room dark. However the floor tiles and the shower tiles were very dirty and the mat was not vacuumed very well.

Although quite touristy it was not overwhelmingly so with nice restaurants and shops and some lovely places to walk around. A beautiful small town, not tacky and full of character. Close to a lovely beach accessible by boat (and also by foot if you are prepared for a bit of a walk!). There was a fabulous silversmith, Carlos Pascoal, on the road near the old market place on the side of the river and pretty much opposite this. Beautiful hand made, quirky and environmentally appealing. Quite rare to find such lovely and quirky pieces...

A very attractive, compact town with plenty of eating places. Picturesque bridges over the tidal river are a delight. The town centre is lively and very walkable but town tourist bus and ferry to the island are welcome bonuses.

It's cute but boring little place.
It's cute but boring little place. There is a tiny old town, the roman bridge, and a renovated tiny city center, and a park along the river. You can see everything in 30 minutes. We took the little tourist train which was a complete waste of time and money. It's a good place to retire to, but not a fun place to visit.

I'm not sure how many times I may have reviewed Tavira now but as with the place itself times and people change... Personally I can feel a little disgruntled that other people now tread its streets and modernisation and development is obvious, but success always has a downside and becomes a victim of itself. I STILL ADORE THE PLACE, as with any visitor, be prepared to slow down a little and soak up what is all around and about you, you WILL find a little something to delight you! Alan :-)

Stunning hotel , best location as in a cute square surrounded by lovely restaurants and cafes within a 1 minute walk from Roman bridge and centre of Tavira. Beautifully presented rooms and stylish ,artfully presented breakfasts with delicious baking / cooking and service, tranquil yet friendly.Every single team member went out of their way to be thoughtful , friendly and considerate- really top level .Run to book here, it’s truly an oasis of quality and style. Plan to return 🌻
The hotel is by the river in Tavira, which is a lovely place. We stayed on a room only basis which was fine as there are lovely cafes and restaurants just a short walk away. The ice cream at the cafe next door is delicious too. There is a supermarket a short walk away and more shops on the other side of the river. There is a ferry which runs several times a day which takes you over to a beautiful beach for a small fee.
We visited Portugal for 35 days and drove around the country. This was the best accommodation of our trip. Nuno left fruit, water, fruit juice, and many other items for us (what a surprise). No one else came close to him. He is special if you want to visit Tavira and the surrounding areas. We stayed for three nights. This was the largest apartment we stayed in, with two bedrooms.
Stunning boutique hotel with amazingly beautiful and peaceful gardens. A real oasis - the perfect place to escape city life, rejuvenate and relax with nature. They looked after us so well and booked us into delicious restaurants every night, recommending us a beach a day to explore. Would 100% go back! X
Older hotel located on the river. Rooms were small but adequate. Many restaurants, shops and attractions within a 10 minute walk. The ferry terminal to Tavira Island is located in front of the hotel.
