Very nice place, the hotel is well maintained, the staff is very helpful, room service and restaurant are good. The location is perfect, there are several quality options to have lunch or dinner and enjoy the local fresh sea-food dishes. In general, nice climate and charming Island. We enjoyed our New Year stay of one week.

The hotel is perfectly located in the city center, very close to the old town and the seaside promenade, has its own parking. Breakfasts are the same every day, but everything is there - bread, cheese, ham, granola, yogurt, dessert and fruits, coffee and juices. The staff is very friendly and ready to help in any questions - we had an early departure, they helped us order a taxi to the airport and gave us breakfast to go.
Centrally located and only a 10-minute drive from the airport, the Hotel Ponta Delgada features a family ambience and comfortable furnishings. It features an elevated indoor pool.

Magically unique space, palm trees next to pine trees!
Magically unique space, palm trees next to pine trees! Most vibrant rainbows I've ever seen, DELICIOUS steaks, cheese and obviously seafood. Seafood dishes you can't get anywhere else, sometimes the fisherman was sitting next you. Easy to get around - rent the car- so you can change plans on the spot, just like the weather changes. Bring two swimsuits, travel towels and a wet bag for the spas. Do not miss Termas de Ferraria. Lovely people! 100% recommend

8 days it s just enough to explore whole island if you have your own car, also we traveled in December ( low season ) but we had a great time. Sun was still very active so in general temperature on island was like 18 degrees whole time. For the NYE iv never seen more beautiful fireworks then in Ponta Delgada.

Ponta Delgada and the island of São Miguel offered many...
Ponta Delgada and the island of São Miguel offered many unique vistas and a variety of great activities. We originally planned to stay for five nights, but due to a flight change with SATA Airlines, our trip was extended by an extra night, bringing our total stay to six nights. While we certainly enjoyed our time, we felt that five nights would have been the perfect duration for us. After four days, we had seen most of what the island had to offer. In the summer months, however, a slightly longer stay might be ideal for those looking to enjoy more beach time and relaxation.
One experience that didn't quite meet our expectations was the thermal pools at Poça da Dona Beija in Furnas. While I understand that it might be enjoyable for first-time visitors to such facilities, we found it to be more of a tourist trap. The space felt small and overcrowded, and with 150 people squeezed into five pools, the experience was far from relaxing. We have access to much larger, more tranquil outdoor spas at home, so perhaps that influenced our perspective. I imagine it could be a great experience for others who haven't visited similar spots before.
For the majority of our stay, we were based at the Canadian Nature Hotel. We were very happy with the central location, which made it easy to explore Ponta Delgada and the surrounding areas on foot. The convenience of the location was a real highlight for us.
Overall, we had a wonderful time, and we’re glad we rented a car for the length of our stay — it gave us the flexibility to explore the island at our own pace. One additional recommendation: If you have the chance, I highly recommend visiting the island of Terceira. We visited it first, and we found it to be an absolute gem — we only wished we had more time there!

Ponta Delgada is not for young party seekers.
Ponta Delgada is not for young party seekers. It is a quiet place to get away from it all. 2-3 days is ample to walk all the nooks and crannies and then 2-3 days to drive around the island sight seeing.

A great base for exploring the entire island.
A great base for exploring the entire island. There are many facilities in the city: churches, museums, interesting buildings, port, market, restaurants, botanical garden, pineapple plantation. The island - wonderful viewpoints of crater lakes, cliffs on the coast, beautiful plants, botanical gardens, thermal baths, geysers and volcanic fumes, even a tea plantation and whale watching boat trips.

stayed in this hotel as my Birthday treat. I was upgraded for free from a double room to an apartment facing marina. I chatted a few times with stuff who were friendly and very supportive. Breakfast there is amazing and the best in Portugal so far.
Especially I loved cheese balls which I first tried on my visit to Rio de Janeiro.
I found my bed very comfortable and liked crisp, fresh bedding. Thank you for my special stay in this hotel.
Probably the best hotel on the island. The manager, Mr Alexandru Daralta, was very nice to us, giving us an update to the junior suite, which was spectacular. I would suggest to stay at this place, when coming to Sao Miguel, cause it's right in the city center and the hotel is super nice. We did not had the chance to try the breakfast, as we left early in the morning. This will be our base camp if we come back again on the island. :)
Very comfortable house in a good location of Sao Miguel Island, with walking distance to main beaches and a 10 min car ride to Ponta Delgada.
Very nice to have a big garden with BBQ-facilities and a well equipped kitchen.
Our host Maria was very nice, supporting with good advises and making sure everything was fine throughout our stay.
Great hotel, beds were comfortable and we had an incredible view of the airport - great if you are staying in town and want to do tours around the island, or if you are finishing your time in the Azores. The downtown area is 15-20 min walk but there are restaurants near by or along the pier as well.
The location was great, right in the centre of Ponta Delgada. The staff were friendly and helpful. The common areas are lovely. The air con in the room was much needed in the high humidity of the Azores in August. The room was a good size.
