the location near the port is ideal, there is a possibility to swim in the ocean across the street. the staff would be nice and friendly, there was no problem with e.g. late check-out. Breakfast was very good.

Great location. Good sized rooms. The swimming pool and hot tub are a pleasant surprise, they were usually empty when I used it but they’re clean and provide some r&r after a day of exploring. Staff were polite.

It is a beautiful island and easy to navigate. The restaurants are wonderful but be sure to make a reservation ahead even for two people. The whale and dolphin sightseeing trip was amazing. We saw hundreds of dophins and several whales. The guides were wonderful and clearly love their jobs.

Beautiful vista's.
Beautiful vista's. Fantastic restaurants especially Stages at the marina and agricultural association in Rib Grande. Steak was excellent but ask for medium well if you want medium rare. Botanical garden was beautiful. Stopped for a charcuterie board at nearby restaurant. Fabulous! Car rental a must but be prepared for some twists and turns in the roads.

The capital is pretty boring.
The capital is pretty boring. They have no real beach as the full shore is a port. The closes great beach is Sao Roque. The only interesting attraction we found is the church and the botanical garden and the ananas fields.

Ponta Delgada, and São Miguel Island in general, are magical places. The city is rich in history, with a well-preserved historic center that's delightful to explore. There is a general feeling of safety and friendliness. Anyone visiting Ponta Delgada will likely tour the island, and it's truly worth it. By car, it's very easy to quickly get to know São Miguel. In fact, the island feels like a giant botanical garden, with stunning views and incredible cuisine, heavily influenced by the sea, where the freshness of the fish and seafood stands out. Therefore, I definitely recommend visiting and discovering this island, which is a unique piece of Portugal's history and culture.
Breakfast was great, with a great view, and amazing food, and the owners were always up for a nice chat and also very helpful with recommendations and advice. I think it was probably the best inn I ever stayed at and there is definitely no other place I would want to stay when I visit the Azores. In case you want to rent a car, ask the owners because they know a place that will deliver the car and paperwork straight to the inn. Taxi from and to the airport is also cheap and convenient.
Pro tip: ask for the omelet for breakfast.
The place is an absolute delight! I really recommend it. The location is perfect. The athmosphere is very social yet relaxed. The comfort is like a hotel. The place is ultra clean. However, the owner is the best of all. He knows and hosts everyone personally while he manages several accomodations, he will personally pick you up from the airport too. When I left early to catch my flight, there was a little lunchbag with my name on it in the reception with my breakfast in it, so cute!
The hotel has a great location, central in Ponta Delgada, 10 mins away from the airport by taxi. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, and it takes max 10 mins to get to closeby restaurants, cafes and the harbour. The hotel personnel are very service oriented and kind, and I particularly liked they packed breakfast for me on my last day, when I had to leave early.
Relatively new and modern property situated close enough to the airport and Ponta Delgada but feel very peaceful, walking distance to nice beaches. The room was very spacious with good quality air conditioning for cold/heat, and generally well equipped. Staff was friendly and willing to help. Breakfast delivered to door is a plus.
Breakfast was very good with local products from the Azores, served with great sympathy from the staff. The hotel has a heated internal small pool in one of the glasshouses with ambiance music so that you can relax along with the pineapples.
