The staff are absolutely lovely and so friendly.. they speak English well and try to accommodate all your requirements. they had a corkscrew and wine glasses when needed too!
the breakfast is basic, no hot food but all fresh, ham, cheese, bread, rolls, pineapple, melon, cakes, yogurt, cereal and freshly squeezed orange juice, maracujá and red fruits juice, coffee and tea.
The twin room had a bath and powerful hot shower, a bidet, big balcony with a side view of the sea and city, table and chairs.
decor is dated and basic but you're gonna spend most of your time exploring the beautiful island!
The hotel is kinda dated and smells like an old hotel but it's pleasant.

For the excellent price this was a very comfortable, clean hotel, but what made it exceptional was the thoughtfulness and attentiveness of the staff. When I had to ask them for help organize a 5 am taxi pickup, they packed my breakfast to take with me.

Ponta Delgada and the island of São Miguel offered many...
Ponta Delgada and the island of São Miguel offered many unique vistas and a variety of great activities. We originally planned to stay for five nights, but due to a flight change with SATA Airlines, our trip was extended by an extra night, bringing our total stay to six nights. While we certainly enjoyed our time, we felt that five nights would have been the perfect duration for us. After four days, we had seen most of what the island had to offer. In the summer months, however, a slightly longer stay might be ideal for those looking to enjoy more beach time and relaxation.
One experience that didn't quite meet our expectations was the thermal pools at Poça da Dona Beija in Furnas. While I understand that it might be enjoyable for first-time visitors to such facilities, we found it to be more of a tourist trap. The space felt small and overcrowded, and with 150 people squeezed into five pools, the experience was far from relaxing. We have access to much larger, more tranquil outdoor spas at home, so perhaps that influenced our perspective. I imagine it could be a great experience for others who haven't visited similar spots before.
For the majority of our stay, we were based at the Canadian Nature Hotel. We were very happy with the central location, which made it easy to explore Ponta Delgada and the surrounding areas on foot. The convenience of the location was a real highlight for us.
Overall, we had a wonderful time, and we’re glad we rented a car for the length of our stay — it gave us the flexibility to explore the island at our own pace. One additional recommendation: If you have the chance, I highly recommend visiting the island of Terceira. We visited it first, and we found it to be an absolute gem — we only wished we had more time there!

Ponta Delgada is not for young party seekers.
Ponta Delgada is not for young party seekers. It is a quiet place to get away from it all. 2-3 days is ample to walk all the nooks and crannies and then 2-3 days to drive around the island sight seeing.

A great base for exploring the entire island.
A great base for exploring the entire island. There are many facilities in the city: churches, museums, interesting buildings, port, market, restaurants, botanical garden, pineapple plantation. The island - wonderful viewpoints of crater lakes, cliffs on the coast, beautiful plants, botanical gardens, thermal baths, geysers and volcanic fumes, even a tea plantation and whale watching boat trips.

Ponta Delgada is nothing special, but the island of São Miguel is amazing, we loved our stay cause of the mountains and the sea, It feels like paradise. You have to rent a car because the towns are nothing special. So you got to get out and about. Fantastic hikes, great ocean swimming pools, and warm water spas. The food as far as fish and seafood is concerned is just amazing, and difficult to get better anywhere in the world.

Used it as a base for the stay.
Used it as a base for the stay. Not too far from main airport so arrival and departure didn’t entail a long journey to accommodation. We had a hire car (from Hertz)…. reviewed other lesser known car hire firms but they had bad reviews mostly with regard to finding anything wrong with car return and so wanting to take the bond money etc. So Hertz although more expensive was no hassle on pick up or return.
Green&Houses was our stay place and we went out from there on the very good roads to all places on the island. Ate locally at Sao Roque and that was good experience. Warning to drivers - many of the towns/villages have VERY narrow streets and it can be an experience so if you’re not confident driver then beware. Noticed that many of the hire cars on the roads had scrapes on bodywork and the alloys were always damaged. So there’s a warning here about making sure you have taken out the extra insurance option to protect your excess or bond. Otherwise you could have a nasty and expensive surprise when returning the car! Food is generally lovely and lots of fruits/vegetables grown on the island. The pineeapples are unique and delicious (in fact Green&Houses have pineapple greenhouses right where we stayed). Try out the bolo levedos bread rolls too. The best ones are sourced from Furnass. Toasted or filled - whatever.

Lovely city - the available tours were wonderful; beautiful sights, historically informative, fun and truly a delight! We were pleasantly surprised also by some of the local sights, brief but fun tours as well as museums and other gems we hadn’t expected. It helped make our stay truly memorable!

Breakfast was great, with a great view, and amazing food, and the owners were always up for a nice chat and also very helpful with recommendations and advice. I think it was probably the best inn I ever stayed at and there is definitely no other place I would want to stay when I visit the Azores. In case you want to rent a car, ask the owners because they know a place that will deliver the car and paperwork straight to the inn. Taxi from and to the airport is also cheap and convenient.
Pro tip: ask for the omelet for breakfast.
The Azores Inn is a spotlessclean accomodation conveniently located in Ponta Delgada.
We had the nicest surprise when we opened the door of the last floor appartment and discovered a very spacious flat and a rooftop with lounge chairs overlooking the city. The kitchen and coffee / tea offered is a nice addition.
The hotel also made good recommendations for car rental and for tour booking.
The communication via text messages was very easy too.
We loved our experience there and will happily return in the future.
Vania and Sergio are a super friendly couple, welcoming to their guests and passionate about their island. They gave us excellent advice on how to best enjoy Sao Miguel. Their hotel is very charming and well equipped, also ideally located. The breakfast is delicious and they really make you feel at home, proposing you some local liquor and helping you with anything you need. I usually do not leave any reviews but this time I felt like it would be unfair not to leave one.
The staff was really nice, 24h reception, you also get a lunch package if you leave earlier than breakfast is served and the staff at the reception scheduled an airport taxi for us (the taxi costs 10€ in total).
Room and beds were big enough.
WiFi worked really well (we needed to work a bit).
The hotel is in the middle of Ponta Delgada, so perfect to explore everything in the city!
The hosts were very friendly and welcomed us with a basket of groceries as well. Moreover, they provided us with a map of the São Miguel island and suggested one of the most beautiful places to visit during our stay in Azores. Although we did not explicitly ask for it, our studio was cleaned and new towels were provided.
We gladly recommend this place.
