Ramada by Wyndham Lisbon, hotel in Lisbon

Featuring breathtaking views of Lisbon and the Tagus River, this 4-star hotel is a 10-minute drive from Parque das Nações and the riverside. The hotel's restaurant serves tasty Mediterranean cuisine.

The hotel is well located close to a metro station and supermarket (useful if one chooses no breakfast option). Facilities, staff, wifi are all quite good. I used to stay in other hotels of this chain, and my experience at this hotel fully matches expectations.

Food, Fado and Fun in Lisbon

Facing the Tagus River and built on seven hills, charming Lisbon is one of the oldest cities in the world. It offers unique tram rides, intimate Fado performances, great dining venues and much more.

The city is famous for its districts: the Belém's famous monuments; the Alfama's labyrinthine streets, bars and small shops; and the trendy Alcântara's docks. Lisbon’s most popular nightlife and shopping venues are located in Bairro Alto, while the traditional heart of the city beats rhythmically in the Baixa.

Enjoy a walk in the greenery of Jardim Botânico, admire the architecture of the Jerónimos Monastery or explore Feira da Ladra flea market. The Chiado area serves the city's best traditional Portuguese food. No meal is complete without some famous pastéis de nata!

Getting to the city centre is only a metro or bus ride from Lisbon Portela Airport. Whether you want a luxury hotel, a friendly guesthouse or a cosy apartment, Booking.com has plenty of accommodations for your holiday in Lisbon.

    This city is very friendly.

This city is very friendly. The only not so good experience - too many tourists (like us). A lot of restaurants and other local food places, welcoming locals, beautiful sightseeing, architecture, good weather, charming old town. As for us - it's Fado.

Make sure you wear sturdy shoes as most pavements are cobbled and can be quite uneven in places. Lisbon is quite hilly so be prepared. There are good public transport links and you can get a 24hr pass (from all Metro stations and other outlets) which gives unlimited travel on the Metro, busses, trams, funiculars and some lifts for just over 6 Euro. Take a walk from Rossio down Rua Augusta where there are plenty of restaurants with plenty of choice (and then onto Arco de Rue Augusta).

Lisbon is wonderful with a lot of variety.

Lisbon is wonderful with a lot of variety. Bairro Alto neighborhood has lots to offer for an evening, bars and restaurants everywhere. Favourites... dinner with a few fado songs, Port/Wine tasting, Belem tarts, walk along water from Belem to main square, Alfama neighborhood for history. For us 3-4 days was good but we like to get out of the city as well. Portugal is a beautiful country with amazing people, food, wine and port. The people are kind, friendly and fun!

This city is incredible, Portuguese people couldn't be nicer, the food is incredible, the architecture is just gorgeous and there's something new everywhere you go. Try moving around looking at the map following the known roads more than asking google, google will end up showing you a "shorter" route but that might mean going up and down a million steps when you could have simply kept walking on a straight line. Also buy the daily pass, go to the metro station and ask which one you should buy (there are two different daily passes, one for trains and one for the trams, metro and buses).

I didn't spend much time in the city.

I didn't spend much time in the city. We spent most of our week looking around the countryside along the coasts. I found the architecture and historic aspects of the city to be interesting. The people are very friendly and helpful and were more than gracious to an American tourist who doesn't speak Portugese. If I could repeat the trip, I'd spend more time in Lisbon.

We loved pretty much every aspect of Lisbon.

We loved pretty much every aspect of Lisbon. The city has so many different districts with their own characteristics, and mostly walkable. There is lots of history around and we enjoyed many different viewpoints of the city. Probably worth noting that it's hilly - especially the older Alfama area, with cobbles. We both had back ache at the end of each day! We did a tuk-tuk tour which was good fun, though felt a little pricey - but we probably made a mistake in organising it through the hotel, rather than haggling with one on the street. We also took a sunset cruise from Belem - this was really good value and a great way to see Lisbon from a different angle. Would definitely recommend this, though be aware these boats can be small, and a bit bumpy if it's windy. We use Pypas tours, and they were excellent. We had a look at the Timeout market. Not sure would recommend, lots of food options, but very hot! The castle was good, fabulous views of the whole city, nice cafe, and not too expensive. Cathedral was also worth a visit. Overall, a city we really enjoyed and will go back to hopefully. Probably the only small downside was the cruise ships and the number of people arriving - one day there were 3 in port, that's a lot of visitors trying to look at the same things!

Fantastic hotel. The staff is 5 stars, from the reception to the staff of the restaurant and bar. Breakfast is varied and has an egg menu, such as omelet and benedict. The room was comfortable and the bed fantastic. It has an indoor pool and spa. But the best part is the outdoor pool terrace with bar and a fantastic vertical garden. I recommend it and will come back.
