A beautifully presented stone cottage with an historic feel to it and all the mod cons too. Spacious, tidy rooms with dedicated decor that matched it's era. Location excellent with only a short walk through the park to the picturesque main street; Hosts were great and communication was A1.

Very central in the town, able to walk to the beach and most places in town.
The beach is rocky but looked beautiful. You are 15 minutes from Kadina and Wallaroo, if you were looking to go there and they’re booked out this is a great option. It’s a small country town and would recommend for a quiet getaway. Moonta has a cool water park for the kids. It’s worth checking out!
Capella’s pizza was delicious!

We went to Splashtown, it was good for the kids and we also went to the beach. We went to the mines, which had the train ride. It was a good. Had breakfast at Taste the Yorke, food was good, good portions too. Overall it was a good experience.

Moonta is a relaxing and interesting place, great peaceful beaches, interesting tourist drive seeing all the old mining spots, and plenty of good eating experiences. We caught squid on the jetty. We had a lovely meal at Moonta hotel, and tasty pasties from the Cornish kitchen. Also visited the lolly shop and enjoyed choosing our favourites

I've been going here since I was a child.
I've been going here since I was a child. Number 1 on the list is the old lollies shop out of town opposite the mine train tours. Town is getting a bit over priced with city shops. But there are still some of the original old shops with plenty of antiques. Parks an streets are way upgraded. New BBQ going in the main square. Every person I spoke to was still that country happiness inviting helped alot with anxiety. Moonta Bay has a water park pt Hughes has the Tavern best feed I found.
Only thing I would avoid is the takeaway shops in kadina. We litterly threw the food out after 1 bite an went to moonta. The Kracken in the main street 🤤🤤
The grave is my father's best friend who we lost to sea at pt Hughes. The bench is from our families set on top the green lawnes coming into pt Hughes with a plaque for each of them. Please have a sit an over look the bay with the boys might even bring you some luck fishing😉

Quaint, tidy town that is full of history. The Rail Trail is fantastic for bike riding. We had a nice meal in the Moonta Hotel and a brilliant meal at the Italian restaurant Capellas. Very friendly and helpful locals.

Absolutely love Moonta!
Absolutely love Moonta! Such a great country town with lots to see and do. The Moonta Mines is a must with the various mining sites, museum and of course the Old Sweet Shop. There are quite a few good garden and gift shops in the town, we did not walk away empty handed from any of them! Garden Vista, The Moonta Collective and Moonta Garden and Landscape Supplies are all fantastic. There are other towns and areas very close by to visit - Port Hughes, Simms Cove, Kadina, Moonta Bay and Wallaroo. Great of course in summer for the beaches, but also nice to watch the sunset in winter too. Also there are art trails to follow in Kadina, Moonta and surrounds and in Wallaroo and North Beach.
