A thoroughly liveable city, Melbourne has a buzzy vibe and an Aussie sense of fun. There’s always something going on, and one of its many festivals is Moomba – Australia’s largest free arts festival. Well worth a visit are the National Gallery of Victoria and the Melbourne Aquarium, whose highlight is walking through a clear tunnel as sharks swim over your head.
The city’s most recognisable landmark is Flinders Street Station, whose yellow and green façade matches the colour of the historic Melbourne trams that still run around the world’s longest tram network. Keep an eye out for the street art as you travel.
Shopping in Melbourne is fantastic. Queen Victoria Market is the largest open-air market south of the Equator, while the La Trobe Street shopping centre has over 300 stores. For food, don’t miss Little Italy - the Carlton area.
South of the Yarra River is St Kilda, home to the best beach and Albert Park, where the F1 Australian Grand Prix is held. However, this is not the city’s only sporting heritage. It’s also the home of Aussie Rules football and the MCG, a must-see for cricket fans.
Booking.com has a range of Melbourne accommodation from hotels to hostels and motels, some near Melbourne Airport.
Beautiful sunrises and view of sports complex. Great public transport.
Free city circle tram, delightful way to look and experience the CBD
Just love all that Melbourne has to offer and show case. Would have loved to attend a sports game at the sports complex, and more time to attend the national gallery.

Great time of year to visit during 15-20 May.
Great time of year to visit during 15-20 May. Still warm enough with minimal weather issues. Fits between school terms which means more access to shows, theatre, restaurants, exhibitions without the crowds. Lovely quiet time of year with a good 80% of things still operating for tourists. We did a lot of city walks, 2 theatre shows, Classic Car Museum, MCG, Casino, Old Treasury Exhibitions, street art and excellent dining.

Melbourne is rightly often voted one of the world's most liveable cities. For its variety of culture, events, festivals, art galleries, restaurants, bars, Port Phillip Bay, beaches, parks, gardens and shopping. Marvellous transport system for the whole of Melbourne into regional Victoria for around ten dollars for unlimited travel on trams, trains and buses.

Melbourne is awesome.
Melbourne is awesome. My current favorite city in Australia. So much to see, do, eat and drink.
Easy to get around, and culturally rich.
Meet the teams at Bar Margaux, The Whisky Den, Boilermaker, and San Telmo just for starters.

Melbourne has everything!
Melbourne has everything! Culturally diverse food, a great transport system, both trains and trams, entertainment for all tastes, friendly people, great accommodation for all budgets and the coffee culture is worth exploring. Places like the National Gallery, the Museum and State Library are worth a visit. The many laneways are also worth exploring for the cafes and boutique shops. A visit to Melbourne for me always includes a visit to the Block Arcade (Haigh's Chocolates and the Historic Tea Rooms), a walk across The Queens Bridge and along Southbank to the Crown Casino. The Waiting Room restaurant is a favourite. Dinner at Bangkok Jam is a favourite in Chinatown if attending Her Majesty's Theatre. Another beautiful venue is the Princes Theatre in Collins Street. Do check out shows and exhibitions prior to your visit, there's always something on.

I was born there so I am prejudiced, it is a great city, but there are getting to be a bit too many people crowded in and the CBD is getting more skanky and grungy than it was before. The city is growing more quickly than its provision of infrastructure. Also Melbourne's best secrets are often better known to insiders rather than visitors. I was travelling for work as I now live outside of Melbourne and found my rental location super-convenient for transport, shopping and commuting
Worth every cent! Beautiful hotel, classy and very comfortable rooms; staff members are not only polite but very well trained and genuinely caring people. The location is fantastic on Southgate and close to Melbourne CBD, perfect if you have to go to the Exhibition Centre, 10 mins walking distance while enjoying a beautiful city/river view (wear comfy shoes!). We’ll definitely come back again, highly recommended!
The hotel is very nicely designed, bathroom was clean and the bed was comfortable. The hotel tv in the room also had free movies available without the need for streaming platforms. Location was ok- 14 minute walk from Skybus terminal in the city that connects travellers to Melbourne airport. Something to note: the hotel is on the outskirts of the central busy CBD area (approx 30-40min walk or 15 Min uber).
Very close to the CBD and Vic markets, on the free tram line into the city making travel very convenient. The hotel is set up for family or business and the lobby is nice.
Gym and pool also a nice bonus! Plus a quiet spot on the top floor with comfortable seating to relax away from hustle and bustle of Melbourne CBD.
1. Downstairs grocery store
2. A brand-new, modern apartment
3. Melbourne CBD apartments with a midrange price range
4. Reliable shower water pressure
5. There is good security
6. 6 minutes to free tram station on foot
