To walk out the rear door to be across the road from Myers and major shopping centre was excellent and then returning carrying many items. The beds were like sleeping on a cloud and the rooms all have a small balcony with a view over the bay

Attended mosaic symposium, and most unfortunate the Geelong mosaic mural designed by state artist Harold Freeman, depicting Geelong’s history located in the State government building was not available for viewing by 200 enthusiastic mosaicers , due to foyer renovations despite discussions with one of the mural fabricators. This stopped people from all over Australia, New Zealand and a few from Europe and US viewing and sharing Geelong’s history. The Woolshed did a great job.Botanic Gardens are great

Geelong is a great city with regional feels.
Geelong is a great city with regional feels. Great cafes and shopping, beautiful waterfront walking and gardens. You definitely need time for galleries and museums, as well as shopping and walking to the gardens along the waterfront

The beach was nice.
The beach was nice. Although there were roadworks and it was hard to drive. We managed to reach the beach. Lots of food options especially the halal options. Coles is central, easy to reach. Petrol stations on main roads.

Easy to get around and you can walk the foreshore with pathway all the way along. The weather was rainy and very windy the whole time we were there but lots to do indoors. Fantastic eateries along the foreshore not cheap but great money for value. We were visiting family so did a bit of driving which once you got your bearings was easy to navigate.

Geelong started as a port. It still is.
Geelong started as a port. It still is. Travellers can ferry across Port Philip Bay to Melbourne, take the ferry to Tasmania, or a bus out to Avalon International Airport to see the world. There is a range of accomodation from 5-star waterfront with views to private and quiet places on bus services across Geelong and its suburbia. Itts about one hour by vline train to Melbourne,

Best western is in a central location close to geelong CBD. Free Parking. Hotel reception was enter via key afterhours which made it feel secure as a single mum travelling with kids. Room was spacious, clean, comfortable and pool facilities available with beach towels to use.
Great location for city centre, waterfront and access to GOR, Queenscliff, etc. Good sized apartment, beautiful large bathrooms, well equipped kitchen and laundry, fabulous outdoor terrace, easy access from carpark to apartment. Spotlessly clean.
The hotel was nice but so expensive!!!! Not worth the money considering breakfast wasn't even included. I booked it in when it was cheaper and was not aware of the rise in price when checking in. Not happy.
The bed was fresh and clean, location is good for shopping nearby, Belmont for example and location is not too far away from the city Centre of Geelong. Public transport - bus and railway station close.
