The hotel offered very basic but clean and quiet accommodation at a very reasonable price. The central location was very convenient and the restaurant/pub was very good.
The negatives were the toilet cistern filling valve and flushing control were broken so the toilet ran continuously (I turned the valve off manually between uses). The room was not serviced during the 3 days we stayed so clean towels would have been appreciated.

Auckland is a big city by NZ terms, but it doesn't feel busy...
Auckland is a big city by NZ terms, but it doesn't feel busy or carry the same hustle and bustle of large cities overseas. A harbour city, best enjoyed by taking a short ferry ride to Rangitoto (a nearby Volcano island), Devonport (quaint village on the North Short), or Waiheke Island (great for wineries).
Nice beaches found, with golden sand beaches on the east coast, or black sand surf beaches which can be found on the west coast in places like Piha.
Easy, if a little flawed public transport system. Best to use Trains for heading South or West of the city, buses if heading north, or ferries across the harbour.
Its viaduct area is its heartbeat for dining, and for the younger crowd check out K road for nightlife. Parnell, Ponsonby and Newmarket are great central destinations for shopping, cafes and to feel the charm of Auckland.
Look for exciting activities such as walking outside at the top of the Sky Tower, or bungy jump from it or the Auckland Harbour bridge. There is a jet boat experience on the harbour, or even sail a former America's cup yacht.
If you can time it right, the All Blacks (NZ national rugby team) play at New Zealand's largest stadium, Eden Park. But the city offers a host of other sports events, such as the Breakers in the Australian basketball league, Auckland FC in the Australian Football league, the NZ Warriors rugby league in the NRL, plus much more.
Visit the maritime museum or catch a ride on a dolphin and safari cruises, the Auckland war memorial museum is nearby a local reserve, or catch a train to Manukau to visit NZ's largest theme park Rainbows end.
Something for everyone in this great city.

It has been over 20 years since last in city.
It has been over 20 years since last in city. We were there for a wedding and to catch up with friends. Without gps would have been lost many times. Found central city very confusing and congested. Stressful for driver. If eating Asian lots of choice, not so much for European we too old for McDonald’s. View from mt eden spectacular. If you driving yourself stay away from central city. Allow extra time as traffic heavy and if you not used to lane driving and motorways you can easily end up going wrong way.

Restaurant on site though it's not cheap. 5 minutes walk however there's a bakehouse with great hot and cold food, much cheaper. Also next to that is a liquor store supermarket and chemist. Good size room, comfy bed, great shower. I prefer this to all the other Auckland airport hotels I've tried. It's the best value for money.
So close to the International Airport. An easy exit on an early morning flight. Liked everything and have compared it with other cheaper hotels and this is by far the best offering. The bistro has good cuisine and wine selection and is still open at 9pm which helps when come in on a relatively late flight.
What's not to like? Great view, free parking, convenient quiet location, clean spacious rooms, friendly staff and all for a much better price than other hotels in the Auckland cbd. Oh and the restaurant has a good selection of meals at reasonable prices.
One of the nicest hotels in Auckland. The parking was free if you self park which is rare in the city. It was quiet at night. The location is excellent. Staff were friendly. Comfortable. There was nothing to fault. Will definitely stay again.
Location not far from the airport but shuttle bus available at door if you pre-book. Plenty of parking at the back of the hotel.
The breakfast was excellent and we would definitely stay here again when flying from Auckland.
