Clean, quiet and comfortable for a solo traveler. Room would be a bit cramped for two. Staff was friendly and efficient. I needed dinner after the kitchen was closed, but staff went out their way to accommodate my needs. Good conversation with other guests. Easy parking and well located on main road into the town...so easy to find arriving after dark. Good breakfast too.

The hotel location is a short walking distance to the old town, tourist attractions, and restaurants/shops.
We stayed in the TORNAÂD room for three nights. The room was clean with a big window, which opened up and faced the back of the building that provided us a few peaceful night's sleep. The bed was comfortable enough.
The open shelvings, part of the wardrobe, provide a good spot to place some items of clothing/toiletries on it.
The updated bathroom/shower had ample room and a big wash basin.
If you plan on catching a train, as my husband and I did and ended up walking to the hotel, I suggest pre-book a taxi in advance or contacting the hotel for advice.
The front desk/ foyer is very welcoming. All staff were very helpful, friendly and always with a smile.

Sarlat is truly a hidden gem of the beautiful Dordogne, a destination that captures the very essence of France. This historical town offers an incredible blend of rich history, vibrant culture, and exceptional cuisine, making it a must-visit for anyone seeking an authentic French experience.
In the summer, Sarlat comes alive with energy. The town and its surroundings are brimming with activities, from exploring magnificent castles to visiting prehistoric cave paintings, and for those looking to cool off, the region is dotted with water spots perfect for a refreshing dip.
Nestled in a lush, green valley, the surroundings are as stunning as the town itself. We recommend spending at least 4 to 5 days here, but honestly, we could have spent the entire summer!
Sarlat is an absolute MUST DO in France!

Everywhere you looked was beautiful, visiting early in the week Mon - Tue it was really quiet so I was able to get some great pictures without other people in them. Honestly such a stunning place to visit and wander round.

A historic town with a great centre.
A historic town with a great centre. Modern shops, bars and coffee shops in abundance alongside a great selection of restaurants. We were there for their Christmas market and it was well organised and great range of stalls and food options. Lots of narrow and steep streets but accessible aswell at either end. We had a lovely meal in the old market area on the first night and a takeaway Chinese the next. Awful weather meant we didn't explore the area any further.

Sarlat-la-Caneda is a truly beautiful medieval town, with plenty of well priced restaurants and a very interesting museum in the centre. This is a particularly good place to stay if you want to tour around with river trips, Chateaux and many river walks. We especially enjoyed visiting Chateau Les Milandes, the home of Josephine Baker, which gave a fascinating insight into her life, beautiful gardens to walk around and an excellent onsite restaurant.

Sarlat is a vibrant city with plenty of shops, bars and restaurants. The Saturday market is a must visit. There is plenty of international cuisine on offer if you don't care for the fois gras or canard, which are the main specialities of this region. Unless you're after a particular spot, there's no need to book as the choice is phenomenal.
After a day spent marvelling at the history of the place, Place de la Liberté is great for apéro and people watching!
Plenty of parking available - free during certain times, although free all day places less than 10 minutes from main centre.

We had travelled from the south that day and just needed somewhere quiet to relax. I booked the hotel as it had a nice garden. Unfortunately we arrived in cold and rain so couldn’t take advantage of the facilities. It’s well situated though and easy to get to from Sarlat. The public rooms are comfy the dining room looks good.
Perfect location, close to the center of Sarlat on foot. Easy parking although there is an option to book a parking spot through the hotel as well. Kind and helpful staff. Large and clean room. Great breakfast with lots of choice.
Lovely hotel just a 10 minute walk from center Sarlat.
